As a College Recruit

Arguably the most ready-to-play offensive lineman in a deep cycle at the position in 2023. A wide-bodied, nimble mover who has excelled a multiple spots on the offensive line after initially beginning his career as a defensive lineman. Checked in at 6-foot-5, 329 pounds with an 81-inch wing-span prior to his senior season. Worked at right tackle for top program IMG Academy as a junior before flipping to left tackle as a senior. Could be a long-term projection at multiple spots on the offensive line. Has played very well against a national schedule and some top pass rushers. Also faced top prospects on a daily basis in practice at IMG. Uses his natural strength to create a big push in the run game. Plays with a wide base and has considerable pop in his hands. Has mauling qualities as a drive blocker and is athletic enough to get to the second level with ease. Has some rare foot quickness for a lineman of his size, as evidenced by an outstanding 4.5 second mark in the short shuttle. Fairly refined in his pass set at this stage. Carries his weight well and has continued to lean out some as a senior. Younger for the class and won't 18 until he is enrolled as a freshman in college.

Francis Mauigoa's nimble athleticism and physical play style reminds us of Penei Sewell. Both are strong functional movers despite their weights at over 320 pounds. They excel as run blockers while also having the feet and coordination to succeed in pass protection as offensive tackles. Mauigoa tests as a better athlete than Sewell at the same stage.

Francis Mauigoa has strong outing at the Polynesian Bowl

Charles Power

Several top offensive linemen played in the Polynesian Bowl, led by five-star Miami offensive tackle signee Francis Mauigoa. The 6-foot-5, 325-pounder protected Iamaleava’s blindside for Team Mauka and pitched a clean sheet for the evening. Mauigoa showed his readymade skill set that makes him one of the highest-floor offensive linemen in what is a deep cycle at the position. He neutralized top 100 defensive lineman and Oregon signee Matayo Uiagaleli off the edge. We also saw Mauigoa play many snaps at defensive line. The Five-Star Plus+ and No. 19 overall prospect looked the part.

Francis Mauigoa a Top Performer at Under Armour Future 50

Charles Power

Francis Mauigoa was On3's No. 2 Top Performer at Under Armour Future 50 after an impressive showing in 1-on-1's. Mauigoa locked horns with the top two edge rushers on hand: Oklahoma commit Adepoju Adebawore and LSU pledge Dashawn Womack. The rep with Adebawore could be ruled as a stalemate, but Mauigoa showed the ability to recover after getting beat off the line. He followed that up with a very strong rep against Womack, quickly getting into his pass set and stoning the LSU commit at the point of attack.

Mauigoa was far and away the top offensive line prospect at Future 50. He was the top athlete and most nimble mover in a group of big 300-plus pounders – by a considerable margin. Mauigoa’s combination of movement skills and play strength at 6-foot-5, 325 pounds m
