As a College Recruit

Developed, polished passer who is most comfortable as an in-structure distributor. Measured at around 6-foot-0.5, 195 pounds with a 9.25-inch hand prior to his senior season. Is relatively filled out with a developed lower body. Was touted as a top quarterback prospect very early in the recruiting process, earning offers in middle school. Turned in a strong junior season, leading a high-powered Providence Day offense to a state title in North Carolina’s private school league. Completed 72.5% of his passes for 3,425 yards (11.2 yards per attempt) and 43 touchdowns against six interceptions. Effectively distributed the ball to a group of skill players that included several Power 5 prospects. Makes good decisions and looks to have a good grip of the offense. Has solid arm strength when delivering from within the pocket. Polished and refined as a ball handler and when working off of play action. Much more of an in-structure quarterback. Moves well within the pocket but does not make too many plays with his legs. Has a naturally longer release which limits his ability to consistently deliver from off-platform. Increasing his ability to make individual plays would raise his floor as a prospect given physical limitations relative to other blue-chip quarterback prospects.

Jadyn Davis' skill set reminds us of former Michigan quarterback Shea Patterson. Both were around similar size and had some similarities in play style. They were also both touted prospects from an early age.

Jadyn Davis performs at Elite 11 Finals

Charles Power

Michigan commit Jadyn Davis made a late push for inclusion in the Top Performers with a strong showing in 7-on-7 on Friday at the Elite 11 Finals. The Wolverine pledge looked by far the best he had all week, completing 11 of 15 passes for four touchdowns. Davis showed good zip on his intermediate passes and had nice touch on a few corner routes that went for scores. The 6-foot-0.5, 190-pounder has a longer backstroke on his throwing motion that can affect the release time and accuracy on his shorter passes. He was at his best over the course of the week when he had time to set up and deliver to the middle of the field.

Jadyn Davis shows promise, room for improvement at Overtime OT7

Charles Power

2024 quarterback Jadyn Davis gets the nod at No. 10 after making some impressive throws over the course of his first day of action. Davis has a thick, powerful base that he uses to generate velocity. While Davis may not have had the throw-to-throw consistency of Iamaleava, Nelson or Moore, his arm did not look out of place playing alongside the highly-touted 2023 prospects. As noted above, we saw Davis connect with top 50 wide receiver Noah Rogers on several deep touchdowns throughout the day. Davis saw his play dip a bit after the first day, missing a few throws high. He can continue to improve his accuracy on a throw-to-throw basis.
