As a College Recruit

Absolutely massive nose tackle prospect with unique movement skills for his size. Measured at 6-foot-5, 388 pounds in the summer prior to his senior season. Productive and disruptive with some explosive moments. Makes plays behind the line of scrimmage at a high rate. Shows the ability to make plays in pursuit with speed that belies his size. Very strong and pushes the pocket. Demands double teams, otherwise will push offensive linemen into the backfield. Has a multi-sport background, playing basketball, baseball and posting strong throws in the shot put. Will need to improve his conditioning and trim down once he gets into a college strength and conditioning program. Older prospect for the class.

Jaheim Oatis impresses against top program

Jaheim Oatis and his Columbia, Miss., team took on a traditional top program in Petal High. Oatis’ massive size immediately jumps off the screen. He’s 6-foot-5 and tips the scales somewhere between 380 and 390 pounds. Oatis is a pure nose tackle at the next level and has rare movement skills for a prospect of his size.We saw the big defensive tackle make four to five impressive plays behind the line of scrimmage. He even chased down a ball carrier in pursuit. Not to mention he is the kickoff specialist for Columbia. Oatis tired out a bit in the fourth quarter, but his stamina was not an issue when you consider his size and the number of snaps played.
