As a College Recruit

Long, productive pass rusher with NFL pedigree. Uses his long levers and quick hands to disengage from opposing offensive tackles. Closes quickly and finishes with authority behind the line of scrimmage at a high rate. Has the ability to dip and bend around the edge. Makes some high effort plays in pursuit. Owns a stout frame and should continue packing on mass at the college level. Had a big senior season, being named Florida’s Gatorade Player of the Year. The bits of verified athleticism we do have are average for the position.

We view Kenyatta Jackson Jr. as having similar physical traits and position-specific skills to Smith. Both are around 6-foot-5 with considerable length and a frame to add weight. Smith had a 35+ inch arm at the NFL Combine. Jackson measured with an 82-inch wing-span prior to his senior season. Both register as solid, not elite athletes for the position and win with their length, jump off the ball and bend around the edge. Jackson showed his pass rush skill set as a senior at Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna while racking up 18 sacks and leading his team to a state title.

Kenyatta Jackson Jr. evaluation at Under Armour All-America Game

Charles Power

Kenyatta Jackson Jr. entered the week at Under Armour coming off of a strong senior season that saw him named Florida’s Gatorade Player of the Year and help his team to a state title. The Ohio State signee looks to have leaned out a bit since last off-season. He’s a tall, lean pass rusher with very good length. We like Jackson’s bend around the edge, as well. He should continue improving as he continues to elevate his play strength.

Ohio State commit moves up 50 spots in updated On300

Gerry Hamilton

The Ohio State commit jumps 50 spots after terrific senior video and in-person evaluation. The 6-foot-4.5, 238-pounder racked up more than 40 tackles and 12 sacks this season with some dominant performances in South Florida. Jackson features a quick first step and a high-end wingspan. He possesses sudden closing about, and pads crack on contact. Jackson has very quick feet and reactions for his size. He reacts in an instant to a sudden change of movement in his peripheral vision.
