As a College Recruit

Owns the best combination of size and speed we’ve seen from a young prospect as a national-level sprinter at 6-foot-5 and over 230 pounds with plus length. Has aspirations of running in the Olympics. Runs under 10.3 seconds in the 100 meters with the size and length of a premier pass rusher or pass catcher. Plays both tight end and defensive end for his high school. Was initially considered more of an EDGE prospect, but has turned his focus to offense in order to maintain his lighter weight for track. Easily ran past and separated from top cornerbacks at Under Armour All-America Game practices. Has pleasantly surprising lateral agility and shake as a route runner. Does not catch the ball cleanly with consistency, though he has shown the ability to extend for grabs at times. Will need to develop his technique considerably but has rare athletic upside to be a downfield mismatch as a pass catcher or as a potential pass rusher. Younger for the class, turning 18 years-old in July prior to his freshman season.

Nyckoles Harbor is the rarest jumbo athlete we've seen as a recruit. He's one of the nation's top sprinters at around 6-foot-5, 225 pounds. While Harbor could play as a pass rusher he's primarily viewed as a big pass catcher at the college level. He could play at an in-line tight end at times, but is more likely to be split out, even on the perimeter. Harbor is bigger than DK Metcalf but has a level of burst and straight line speed that is comparable to the NFL star. Metcalf was a more refined receiver at the same stage.

Nyckoles Harbor a top performer at Under Armour All-America Game week

Charles Power

Nyckoles Harbor entered the week with as one of the more mysterious prospects in the cycle. The 6-foot-5, 225-pound multi-positional athlete has the rarest blend of size and straight line speed that we’ve ever seen from a prospect. Harbor plays both wide receiver/tight end and EDGE for his high school and looks to be focused on playing offense in college. He worked at tight end in Orlando and showed the unique long speed in running past much smaller corners with relative ease. Harbor is not very natural in catching the football right now, but did get better over the course of the week, making a few extended and contested grabs. We were also pleasantly surprised by the functional movement skills. He was able to stick his foot in the ground and change directions within the route.

Nyckoles Harbor debuts No. 11 in initial On3 2023 rankings

Nyckoles Harbor is certainly among the more interesting prospects we’ve come across in the 2023 cycle. Simply put, he has the best combination of size and speed I’ve ever seen from a prospect. The Washington (D.C.) Archbishop Carroll product is among the fastest prospects in the country – at 6-foot-5 and 240 pounds. Harbor posted a 10.38 second 100-meter time at 15 years old. He plays on both sides of the ball for Archbishop Carroll as a receiver and pass-rusher. There’s a limited sample size available with a shortened spring season. With that said, it’s within reason to think Harbor has the highest upside of any non-quarterback in the cycle.
