H.S. Scouting Summary

Dual-threat quarterback who is competitive while playing in big games against top competition at the high school level. Plays for one of the top high school programs nationally at St. John Bosco in the Los Angeles area. Split time with Michigan State signee Katin Houser as a junior at St. John Bosco. Completed around 60 percent of his pass attempts for 1,416 yards and 16 touchdowns against three interceptions, while also rushing for four touchdowns. A good athlete who is capable of picking up chunk gains with his legs. Shows good quickness in eluding the pass rush and can make some plays when things break down. Has been well-coached as a passer. Lacks natural size at around 6-feet tall, 185 pounds. Can be erratic at times in the 7-on-7 setting. One of the older prospects in the 2023 cycle, turning 18 years-old during his junior season. The son of well-known Southern California private quarterback trainer, Steve Clarkson.

Pierce Clarkson takes part in the Elite 11 Finals
Charles Power
Camp

Pierce Clarkson was among the 20 quarterbacks to participate in the Elite 11 Finals. Clarkson showed off his polish and developed skill set in drill work. The 6-foot, 185-pounder did not appear to be as physically gifted as most of his fellow finalists, but has a high floor due to his level of development.

Pierce Clarkson shines as top performer Battle Vegas

Pierce Clarkson had a compelling case as the best quarterback at Battle Vegas. The Louisville commitment is a student of the game and plays with astounding confidence, and it translates onto the field. The On3 Consensus four-star quarterback seizes up defenses and attacks carefully, but is also well-equipped to attack downfield and make off-schedule throws. He has a smooth delivery; is proficient and accurate, and balances an efficient approach with shots downfield. Arrow is pointing up.
