As a College Recruit

Touted as one of the best underclassman quarterback prospects in a few cycles early on his high school career. Skipped his senior season in order to graduate and enroll at Ohio State. Has elite accuracy with the ability to consistently place the football in small windows. Plays with advanced timing, often throwing the ball before receivers show themselves to be open. Sees the field naturally. Willing to stand in the pocket in the face of pressure and deliver downfield. Throws with a three-quarters to sidearm release. Has a strong arm with considerable zip on intermediate passes. Showed above average mobility as a sophomore before being hampered with a hernia as a junior. Played very well against top competition in the state of Texas as a sophomore and junior. Older for his initial cycle (2022) and may have been closer to his physical ceiling than others at that early stage. Missed out on crucial game experience by forgoing his senior season, which could affect his long-term development.

Quinn Ewers ranked No. 3 Top Performer by On3 at Elite 11 Finals

Charles Power

Quinn Ewers ranked as the No. 3 quarterback at the Elite 11 Finals according to On3. It took Ewers a bit to get going on Day 1, he but showed what makes him perhaps the top quarterback in the 2022 cycle. He has the unique ability to locate the football. Ewers’ accuracy is special both within the context of a live game and in a camp setting. This applies even when he isn’t throwing to familiar targets. Ewers is able to auto-adjust to his receivers with an innate ability to read their speed and deliver passes in stride. On Day 2, Ewers was among the better showings during the Pro Day portion, getting hot towards the end. We charted Ewers as on target for his last 12 passes. He had an up-and-down 3rd and 4th days of 7-on-7 play with some highlight deep passes and some decisions he’d want back.
