Women's basketball watchlist: 11/13 edition

The women’s basketball season has entered week two. Here are the games to keep an eye on today.
BE SEATED AT ALL COSTS
These are the games you’re going to want to skip work for – the ones that will tell us a whole lot about the best of the best.
6pm: USF vs. Fairfield (ESPNU)
This is a really fun mid-major game that you should absolutely tune in for. Fairfield is off to a hot start this season, while USF is adjusting after head coach Jose Fernandez took the Dallas Wings job. But this USF team still has a ton of talent and could give the Stags some trouble.
7pm: Belmont at Tennessee (SECN)
Belmont put up a really good performance against Oklahoma to start the season and will now go up against Tennessee. If they can hit some threes against the Lady Vols, this has the potential to be competitive.
7pm: SMU at Texas Tech (ESPN+)
This is probably the game you didn’t know was happening today, but it’s going to be a great test for both sides. SMU barely lost to Kansas State the other day and Texas Tech has yet to truly be tested. I’m really intrigued by this Lady Raiders squad and am curious to see them play a new-look SMU team.
9pm: North Carolina vs. UCLA (ESPN2)
Now this is certainly the headliner of the day. UCLA just beat a really good Oklahoma team by 14 points and will now have to face the Tar Heels in their first test of the season. This will be a great opportunity to see UNC’s potential this season.

THIS COULD BE COMPETITIVE/FUN
These matchups are more than just your run-of-the-mill easy blowouts. While some of them have the potential to be, these games are an opportunity to see good teams test themselves early.
11am: Rhode Island at Rutgers (Big Ten+)
8:30pm: Drake at Iowa (BTN)
9pm: Colorado State at Gonzaga (ESPN+)
A DECENT LOOK AND/OR AT OPTIMAL TIMES
These games will either be a solid look at a team or they just fall at optimal times. If you’re in need of basketball to watch all day (like me), these are games to add to your list.
12pm: Tarleton State at Texas A&M (SECN+)
5pm: South Dakota at Kansas State (ESPN+)
12am: Saint Martin’s at Hawaii (ESPN+)
WATCH YOUR TEAM WIN A BLOWOUT
The rest of the games here will likely provide no true competitive value – but you never know. These games are just a look at some P5’s playing teams they should beat with ease.
