Women's college basketball: Top 10 games this weekend

The second weekend of women’s college hoops is filled with high-level matchups and hidden gems. Here are 10 games to watch.
Duke vs. West Virginia
Time: Friday at 7pm
Channel: ESPNU
Duke is now at full health and they’ll face a West Virginia team with several new pieces. The Mountaineers have beaten several strong mid-majors, but can they take down the Blue Devils? These are two of the best defensive teams in the country, so I wouldn’t expect a high-scoring outing.
Last meeting: 1996 at Duke, Duke won
Baylor at UNLV
Time: Friday at 9pm
Channel: CBSSN
This should be a fun one. UNLV, one of the top mid-majors, hosts a Baylor team that’s coming off a major opening stretch. The Lady Rebels are great at getting to the free throw line and Baylor already has a resume win under their belt.
Last meeting: 2024 at Baylor, Baylor won
Notre Dame vs. Michigan
Time: Saturday at 4pm
Channel: NBC
This game is going to tell us a lot about two of the most talked-about teams this season. It’s Michigan’s young core vs. Hannah Hidalgo and Co. Hidalgo has gone off over these past couple of weeks, but this is a matchup that could really test the Irish’s depth.
Last meeting: 2025 neutral site in NCAA Tournament, Notre Dame won
Washington at Utah
Time: Saturday at 4pm
Channel: ESPN+
Former Pac-12 foes can’t get away from each other. This is a fun one, as it’s both teams first real test of the year. Utah’s freshmen have a ton of potential, while Washington’s core remains one of the best in the country. Elle Ladine has yet to play this season, so I’ll be intrigued to see if she’s able to suit up.
Last meeting: 2024 at Washington, Utah won
South Carolina at USC
Time: Saturday at 9pm
Channel: FOX
It’s finally time for the battle of “USC.” Both teams enter the game with high expectations and this will make headlines no matter which way it falls. Depth may wind up being key in this one.
Last meeting: 2015 at South Carolina, South Carolina won
Ohio State at UConn
Time: Sunday at 12pm
Channel: Peacock
UConn continues to test itself early in the year. This time, it’s against a new-look Ohio State squad that’ll be looking for a statement win. Jaloni Cambridge can do it all for the Buckeyes, but is it enough to keep up with UConn’s slew of talent?

Last meeting: 2023 in NCAA Tournament, Ohio State won
TCU at NC State
Time: Sunday at 1pm
Channel: ESPN
We’ve got a fun rematch coming our way. TCU made national headlines last season when they beat NC State and the Wolfpack are coming for revenge. This is TCU’s first test of the season and I’ll certainly be watching.
Last meeting: 2024 at TCU, TCU won
Princeton at Maryland
Time: Sunday at 1pm
Channel: Big Ten+
Princeton is off to a hot start this season with wins over Georgia Tech and Villanova. This test will be tougher as they face one of the best teams in the Big Ten. As Maryland regains some pieces back from injury, it’ll be interesting to see if Princeton can hold off the Terps in another road test.
Last meeting: 2018 in NCAA Tournament, Maryland won
Louisville at Clemson
Time: Sunday at 3pm
Channel: ESPN2
Conference play starts early as we have an ACC matchup between Louisville and Clemson. The Cardinals enter the game undefeated, but Shawn Poppie has the Tigers looking good this year. This is a game to keep an eye on, for sure.
Last meeting: 2025 in ACC Tournament, Louisville won
Stanford at Gonzaga
Time: Sunday at 5pm
Channel: ESPN+
Lastly, we’ve got a fun West Coast matchup. Gonzaga took a close loss to Colorado State on Thursday night, but they’re still a talented team who may be able to give some P5’s some trouble. Stanford’s freshmen have been impressive so far and I’m itching to see them play some high-level competition.
Last meeting: 2024 at Stanford, Stanford won
