2026 4-star Placide brothers transfer to Texas hoops powerhouse

It’s the time of the year when transfer announcements are a regular occurrence on the high school basketball scene, and Wednesday saw one of the summer’s biggest transfer pairings yet.
According to League Ready’s Sam Kayser, 2026 four-star basketball prospects Gavin and Gallagher Placide will both transferring from Sunrise Christian Academy (Kan.) to national hoops power Oak Cliff Faith Family Academy in Texas.
The Eagles are coming off a 27-9 season in 2024-25, playing against some of the top high school basketball programs in the country such as IMG Academy (Fla.), Oak Ridge (Fla.), Sagemont (Fla.), Long Island Lutheran (N.Y.) and Utah Prep.
Faith Family left Texas’ UIL after the 2023-24 season to play a national schedule, having previously won five state championships before making the move. The Eagles this past season ended up defeating Bella Vista (Ariz.) to win the 2025 Elite International Basketball Conference (EIBC) national championship, becoming the second team to ever do so.
