The 2025 Kansas high school football season comes to a close as state champions have lifted their crowns. As the offseason starts, here’s how Massey ranked the best squads from America’s Heartland.

The Massey Ratings system, officially used during the BCS era, is a model that ranks sports teams by analyzing game outcomes, the strength of their schedule, and the margin of victory.

1. Andale Indians

The Indians completed their season with a 38-6 victory over Hayden to capture the Kansas high school football Class 3A state championship. Sam Harp led the Andale offense with 143 rushing yards and three yards. Harp also threw a touchdown pass to Cruz Kaiser, while Jack Horsch added a rushing TD. This victory also closed Andale’s campaign at a perfect 13-0 record, giving them back-to-back undefeated seasons.

2. Manhattan Indians

The Indians ended their season with a title-clinching 27-0 shutout victory over Olathe Northwest. Finn Watson led the Manhattan offense with 118 passing yards, 132 rushing yards, and four touchdowns. JJ Dunnigan finished with 118 receiving yards and two TDs. In addition to winning the Class 6A state championship, the Indians finished the season with an 11-2 record.

3. Kapaun Mt. Carmel Catholic Crusaders

The Crusaders dominated Bishop Miege, 56-21, to capture the Kansas high school football Class 4A state championship. This victory ended Kapaun Mt. Carmel Catholic’s triumphant campaign with a 12-1 record. Only their three-point loss to St. James Academy kept them away from a perfect season.

4. Maize Eagles

The Eagles won ten consecutive games after losing to Manhattan in the Class 6A sectionals. Despite that loss, Maize significantly improved from 5-5 in 2024 to 10-1 this season. They’ve dominated in their wins, clinching them with double-digit margins.

5. St. Thomas Aquinas Saints

The Saints dropped to number five in the Kansas high school football rankings after losing to Mill Valley in the Class 5A regionals. In addition to failing to defend their state championship, St. Thomas Aquinas regressed from 13-0 last season to 8-2 this year.
