Garden City (N.Y.) holds nation's longest current win streak
Move over, Marion Local (Ohio). Well, now since the Flyers saw their 76-game winning streak has finally come to an end in the Ohio high school football playoffs, a team out of the Empire State now owns the longest current win streak in the land.
The Garden City Trojans now hold the longest current winning streaks of any high school football teams across the country, with 66 straight victories. The Trojans capped their 2025 season by defeating East Islip, 10-7, for the Class II Long Island Championship, their fifth straight title.
The Flyers’ 76-game win streak had dated back to Oct. 30, 2020 when they lost to New Bremen, 35-28. Marion Local was taking aim at winning a 17th state championship this past season in the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) Division VII classification, but fell 24-7 to St. Henry.
For the Trojans, it was another season of undefeated ball as they have dominated Long Island high school football over the last several years and it doesn’t look like they’re slowing down anytime soon.

When it comes to other teams across the country still holding longstanding win streaks, there’s only a handful that are still currently remaining unbeaten. Teams like Sheridan (WY) and Royal (WA), respectively, both remain teams that have won 50 or more games without a loss.
Garden City has a long ways to go if they want to catch up to the all-time record held by De La Salle (Calif.) of 151 straight wins which lasted from Aug. 30, 1992 to Sep. 4, 2004.
