High School Football: How to watch No. 3 St. Frances Academy vs. No. 21 Corner Canyon
Wednesday night features a can’t-miss national high school football showdown, as No. 3 St. Frances Academy (Md.) takes on No. 21 Corner Canyon (UT) in the first-ever Overtime Nationals championship that will be nationally-televised contest on ESPN2. The contest between the Panthers and Chargers will be a classic battle between East Coast vs. West Coast powerhouse programs. We take a closer look at the matchup between the Top 25 teams on Wednesday night in Baltimore.
Panthers to Watch
All season long, the No. 3 St. Frances Academy Panthers (8-1) have shown why they are deserving of being considered one of the country’s best high school football teams and they’ll get a shot in front of the nation on Wednesday night. The Panthers lone loss on the season came against St. John Bosco (Calif.) in the second week of the season.
QB Jae’Oyn Williams: Williams will play running back at the University of Virginia, but operates the Panthers’ offense and is the perfect dual-threat quarterback. The three-star will be counted on to make plays with his arm and legs on Wednesday night.
S Jireh Edwards: The 6-foot-1, 205-pound Alabama signee is the No. 21 overall prospect and No. 3 safety in the Rivals Industry Rankings, an equally weighted formula that utilizes the three major recruiting services. Edwards will be tested all throughout the evening against Corner Canyon’s offensive pass attack.
EDGE Zion Elee: The five-star edge rusher is the No. 1 overall prospect in the Rivals Industry Rankings and has officially signed with Maryland. For St. Frances Academy, they will need the five-star EDGE rusher to create havoc against Corner Canyon’s offensive line.
LB DQ Forkpa: The four-star prospect was new to the St. Frances roster after transferring in from Mill Creek over the offseason and he was a difference maker for Panthers. Forkpa has officially signed with North Carolina and plays on one of the best front seven units in the country.
Chargers to Watch
The No. 21 Corner Canyon Chargers (12-1) haven’t played since Nov. 20’s Utah High School Athletic Association (UHSAA) Class 6A state championship game when they defeated Lone Peak, 35-20, for the title. Now they head into this national championship contest winners of seven in a row. We take a closer look at some of the key players for the Chargers.
QB Helaman Casuga: The Texas A&M signee has been his usual terrific self all season long and has really come on strong in his senior year. Casuga has thrown for 3,487 yards and 37 touchdowns this fall.

RB Weston Briggs: With every great signal caller is usually not too far away from him, a pretty good running back. Briggs displayed his abilities this season by rushing for 1,119 yards and scoring 13 touchdowns.
WR Kai Meza: Meza has been the No. 1 target in the Chargers’ offense as Casuga’s looked to the Minnesota three-star signee plenty this season. The senior wide receiver has caught 64 passes for 1,074 yards and 12 scores this season.
IOL Esun Tafa: Probably the most key player to the Corner Canyon offense is Tafa, a four-star USC commitment, leading the offensive line. Tafa anchors a stout offensive line that has blocked their way to the Chargers compiling over 7,000 yards of offense this fall.
