Iowa High School Football Top 25 Rankings - Nov. 11

The postseason continued in the Hawkeye State last week, and another jam-packed slate is on deck as teams continue their quests for a state title. Below are the top 25 Iowa high school football teams, according to the Massey Ratings, as of Nov. 11.

1. Dowling Catholic Maroons

The Maroons extended their winning streak to ten games after defeating Iowa City West in the Iowa high school football Class 5A state quarterfinals. Ian Middleton rushed for 248 yards and three touchdowns, while Joey Nahas and Jeffrey Roberts connected on two touchdown passes. Dowling Catholic will face Valley on November 14 with a stint in the state championship game on the line.

2. Waukee Northwest Wolves

The Wolves improved their record to 10-1 after their 48-34 victory over Sioux City East. Ryan Woodruff dominated the Black Raiders, finishing with 192 rushing yards and five touchdowns. Jordon Green added 108 receiving yards. Waukee Northwest will advance to the Class 5A state semifinals against Liberty on the 14th.

3. Xavier Saints

The Saints maintained their perfect record after defeating Adel-DeSoto-Minburn in the Iowa high school football Class 4A state quarterfinals 45-7. Cash Parks threw for 235 yards and four touchdowns, while Carter Hoffmann and Ty Weiss each had a rushing score. Hoffmann, Dustin Cook, Will Forman, and Ryan Kelly each had a receiving TD. Xavier will battle with Newton in the state semifinals on November 13.

4. Valley Tigers

The Tigers edged Johnston in the Class 5A quarterfinals 28-21. Drake DeGroote guided the Valley offense with 204 passing yards, 62 rushing yards, and four touchdowns. Jayden McGregory added 94 receiving yards and a TD. They will face Dowling Catholic on the 14th.

5. West Lyon Wildcats

The Wildcats are now at 11-0 for the season after their 57-22 win over Underwood in the Iowa high school football Class 1A quarterfinals. Easton DeJong played superbly, tallying 201 rushing yards, 143 passing yards, and four touchdowns. Evan Hildring had 149 yards from scrimmage and three TDs (two receiving). Hildring also made two of West Lyon’s three interceptions. The Wildcats will advance to the semifinal against South Hardin on November 14.
