The Massachusetts high school football campaign has entered the MIAA postseason and NEPSAC bowl games portion of the season as the Top 25 some some minor changes after last week’s results.

One of the biggest changes is there’s a new No. 1 in Tabor Academy after they routed Buckingham Browne & Nichols School, 45-6. The Seawolves leapfrog St. John’s Preparatory School, which drops to the second spot this week. Which other teams join the latest Massachusetts high school football Top 25 rankings?

The Massey Ratings, officially used during the BCS era, is a model that ranks sports teams by analyzing game outcomes, strength of schedule, and margin of victory.

Here is the latest Massachusetts high school football Top 25 rankings, according to Massey as of Nov. 10.

1. Tabor Academy Seawolves

The Tabor Academy Seawolves (8-0) feature one of the Massachusetts’ most talented rosters bar none. The Seawolves have a bevy of Division I talent, which includes players like junior quarterback Peter Bourque (Michigan commit), Amahn Williams (UCF commit) and a pair of UCLA defensive linemen commitments in Carter Gooden and Marcus Almada, respectively.

Tabor Academy was impressive in their regular season opener, a 37-6 rout of The Williston Northampton School, following it up with a dominating outing over The Governors Academy in a 46-6 rout and then taking care of business against Milton Academy in a 51-26 win and St. Sebastian’s School, 39-21.

The Seawolves ended their regular season with a 45-6 rout of Buckingham Browne & Nichols School and will play the same team on Saturday in the John Papas Bowl.

2. St. John’s Preparatory School Eagles

The Eagles (9-0) are the No. 1 team out of Massachusetts and there’s plenty to like about this team, especially after an impressive victory over No. 3 ranked Catholic Memorial, 43-28. St. John’s boasts having one of the best sophomore quarterbacks in the country in Christopher Vargas, who is coming off a solid freshman campaign. Vargas against the Knights ended up throwing four touchdowns on 20 of 29 completions.

The Eagles took care of business in the opening round of the Division I playoffs when they cruised to a 38-0 win over Framingham. A great quarterback matchup is on tap this week when St. John’s takes on Leominster, quarterbacked by Coastal Carolina commit Osiris Lopez.

3. King Phillip Regional Warriors

King Philip Reg (9-0) moved up one spot after a 51-0 rout of previously unbeaten Chicopee Comprehensive in the opening round of the MIAA Division III playoffs.

The Warriors are coming off another strong season in the MIAA’s Division II classification, in which they went 12-1 and reached the state championship game, losing to Catholic Memorial. With an advantageous schedule that mimics last year’s, the road back to the title game looks clear once again for the Warriors.

King Phillip now goes into Round 2 of the Division III postseason up against Mansfield (5-3).

4. Catholic Memorial Knights

Catholic Memorial (5-2) are once again loaded with Power 4 talent, with a handful that’ll be making the short trip over to Boston College after their time with the Knights. Among the myriad of Boston College commitments are 2026 three-star linemen Marcelino AntunesMac Fitzgerald, 2027 safety Jackson Tucker and 2028 athlete Ramar Thomas.

The Knights are always in the mix when it comes to MIAA’s Division 2 classification and their most impressive victory of the season was a 56-32 romp over St. Francis (N.Y.) several weeks ago. The Knights dropped their first game of the season a couple weeks ago against Xaverian Brothers with New England Patriots’ quarterback Drake Maye in attendance, 25-22.

Catholic Memorial had one of their toughest games of the season when they took on No. 1 St. John’s Prep, falling 42-38 to the Eagles. The Knights had a bye week in the opening round of the MIAA Division II playoffs and take the field again this week versus Wellesley.

5. The Williston Northampton School Wildcats

When it comes to the region’s top football programs, you can’t go without mentioning The Williston Northampton School Wildcats, who went 8-1 a year ago and their only loss was to Connecticut’s Brunswick School. Williston repaid them the favor by ending the regular season with a 29-25 victory over Brunswick School last week.

The Williston Northampton School (7-2) features a roster that’s always one of the most talented around, with 2026 offensive lineman Dean Ruksnaitis (Boston College commitment) leading the way.

2026 quarterback Crew Colon returns to the offense and the 6-foot-2, 200-pound field general boasts offers from schools like Bucknell, Fordham and Stony Brook. The Wildcats close their season out against Avon Old Farms (CT) in the Drew Gamere Bowl.
