From start to finish, very much like most of the regular season results for the No. 7 nationally ranked Bishop Gorman, was never in doubt. The only intrigue left in regards to the Gaels winning a fifth straight Nevada high school football state championship was what the final score might look like compared to a year ago.

Bishop Gorman breezed their way to a 28-0 halftime lead and never looked back as they defeated Arbor View, 44-7, for the NIAA Open Division state championship on Tuesday night at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. Hawaii commitment Maika Eugenio accounted for all of the four first half touchdowns, with being a passing score.

It was just a year ago that the same two teams met for a state championship, with the outcome having a much bigger gap and the Gaels coming away with a 69-7 win in 2024. This time around, however, Arbor View was able to keep it a little bit more respectable, but the same result transpired in Sin City.

The Gaels will finish the 2025 season with a 12-1 record and ranked in the latest Rivals’ National High School Football Composite Rankings. Bishop Gorman, for possibly the last time, played a national schedule this past season that featured five opponents outside of the state of Nevada. Bishop Gorman played No. 6 Mater Dei, No. 17 Santa Margarita CatholicLone Peak (UT), Kahuku (HI) and East St. Louis (Ill.).
