Tennessee High School Football: Graham Simpson sets records in Westview's 3A-DII title win
The Westview Chargers (Tenn.), Tennessee’s No. 11 ranked team went into Friday morning’s Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association (TSSAA) Class 3A, Division I state championship game against Gatlinburg Pittman looking not fall short like last year.
The Chargers’ offense features three-star sophomore quarterback Graham Simpson, who’s older brother is University of Alabama starting signal caller Ty Simpson, which the younger of the two passers went ahead to set a couple records on the dais.
Simpson threw for a TSSAA record 566 yards and tied a state record with seven touchdown passes as Westview breezed past Gatlinburg-Pittman, 62-21, at Finley Stadium in Chattanooga. As a team, the Chargers tied a state record for points in a half with 55.
All in all, Simpson accounted for 612 all-purpose yards and eight total touchdowns. The sophomore’s final statistics had the signal caller completing 18-of-21 passes for 566 passing yards and seven scores.

Graham had himself a strong second season playing quarterback for the state champion Chargers as the quarterback throughout the 2025 campaign had many big performances, as through the first nine games, Simpson threw for 2,091 yards, 24 touchdowns and just three picks.
The signal caller’s strong 2025 campaign ended with leading this Westview club to the TSSAA Class 3A, Division I state championship after falling to Alcoa, 40-21, in last year’s title game.
