Texas' Dynamic Prep, led by Jermaine O'Neal, to join Overtime Elite next season

One of the nation’s top high school basketball programs is set to join a prominent league next season.
Coming out of Irving, Texas, Dynamic Prep made a big splash in the 2024-25 season, winning more than 30 games while also making a run to the Chipotle Nationals championship game. Now, the Bearcats will be joining Overtime Elite’s league. The league confirmed a report from 247Sports’ Travis Branham on Friday via X.
Based out of Atlanta, Overtime Elite has become a premier destination for top programs and top prospects. The previous season featured eight teams and some of the best in the 2025 cycle, including five-star shooting guard Meleek Thomas (Arkansas signee), four-star point guard Jasper Johnson (Kentucky) and a slew of other Power Four signees.
Dynamic Prep is led by former NBA star forward Jermaine O’Neal. The Bearcats finished last season as the No. 9 team in the nation and No. 3 team in Texas, according to the On3 Composite Rankings.

Perhaps flying under the radar for much of last season, Dynamic Prep made a big splash in the Chipotle Nationals back in April. It defeated Montverde Academy (Fla.), Link Academy (Mo.) and Prolific Prep (Calif.) before losing a battle to top-ranked Columbus (Fla.) on April 5.
The roster was led by a pair of SMU signees in four-star center Jaden Toombs and four-star small forward Jermaine O’Neal Jr., both of whom are top-100 recruits and top-10 players in the Lone Star State in the 2025 cycle.
The returning roster is set to include two of the best in the 2027 cycle in five-star shooting guard Ryan Hampton and four-star small forward Marcus Spears Jr.
