The Governors Academy

The Governor's Academy, located in Byfield, Massachusetts, is one of the oldest and most prestigious independent-school athletic programs in the United States. Known as the Governors, the school competes in the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council and consistently fields highly competitive teams against many of New England’s premier preparatory schools. The Governor's Academy has achieved sustained success across football, basketball, baseball, soccer, field hockey, volleyball, ice hockey, lacrosse, squash, rowing, swimming, tennis, golf, track and field, cross country, and sailing. The Governors are particularly renowned for boys lacrosse, where they have captured numerous NEPSAC championships and consistently produced NCAA Division I athletes and All-Americans. The school has also enjoyed significant success in rowing and field hockey, regularly competing for New England titles while developing collegiate athletes.
