I guess I just don’t understand the logic in a G5 coach over Durkin. Doesn’t make much sense to me.

It makes a lot of sense Auburn people love wanting the intern head coach hired. We have people thinking if he beat bama he deserves the job that the criteria. No other university is trying to hire Durkin as a head coach

Just FYI, this site also has Nick Saban the favorite at LSU and Lane Kiffin the favorite at Florida. These odds mostly reflect betting patterns rather than what they actually think will happen.

Lane should be the big favorite there. Saban to LSU makes a lot of sense but I don’t see him coaching again.

I'm with you, I'd elevate Durkin over a G5. However, I also get the appeal of a young up and comer. People are always looking for the next hot thing and like it or not, Durkin has a huge asterisk on his resume - already had P4 HC job and fired from it, while having a losing record and under some pretty heavy accusations. I can understand wanting either but I'd prefer Durkin. I think hes got something to him. I'm usually wrong though.

Just because you don't want him doesn't make it an "emotional decision". They might look at all the facts, evidence, pros and cons and decide he is the man for the job.

It's mostly based off money coming in on those candidates. Saban wasn't the favorite to start but people put a bunch of money on him and now they lowered the odds. I seriously doubt Saban goes to LSU but who knows.

Who’s to say that money coming in has no intel? I can assure you casuals aren’t tying their money up on these bets.

It’s literally an emotional decision each coaching search you have a minority of fans saying a I want the interim head coach every single time. Cohen knows his job is on the line. We have fans saying if he beat bama he should definitely be head coach is that the criteria or is it emotional?
