Auburn is the second team this season that gets three weeks to prepare for Alabama

Missouri also got that same deal. Remember when we thought teams just getting one bye was bad?

That is not always a good thing, you can over analyze and it gets in your head

Not ideal for us for sure, but AU is in a weird situation. They want Daniels to come back & Daniels wants the same (at AU or elsewhere) so he can’t play against Mercer.

Very odd that Auburn would take a bye week after a sec schedule a week before cupcake week before playing Alabama. Mercer being 7-1. Would be the funniest thing ever to see Auburn lose ha. But the Auburn athletic dept setting up their football team to fail during the season just to have three weeks to prepare for Alabama is so foolish.

I don’t see how not playing for 3 weeks for Daniels will be a good thing. He needs to play this week to keep momentum

Bama needs to beat OU. Nobody wants a must win situation in their Super Bowl at JHS

The bye scheduling for Alabama opponents this year was crazy. I don't have the data in front of me, but feels like it was more lopsided than normal and usually it's already pretty bad.

It is sort of disturbing how many teams the SEC gives a bye week to before playing us. There should be a fairness limit on that in the scheduling process if there isn't.

After seeing the Barn play this past weekend against Vandy this Iron Bowl concerns me a lot more than when brother Hugh was there. Very successful on the offensive side of the ball. They have had a legit defense all season....we don't have a running game. Not good. Puts all the pressure on Ty/receivers.

i think we’re gonna catch Auburn’s best shot bc their coaches and players are auditioning for their next job. i think Saban was a big Durkin fan before he was at Maryland

We're going to catch their best shot because it's the Iron Bowl and that's been the case every single year since the rivalry renewed in 1948.

The fundamental issue is, they care about the game more than we do.

Here's the breakdown - Bama gets screwed as usual, thanks SEC (they suck) Number of SEC opponents that had bye weeks before they played you: Bama -5 UGA, OU, UF - 4 LSU, Texas A&M, Ole Miss, Mizzou, AU - 2 Texas,Tenn, Ark, Miss. St., Vandy - 1 And we played 4 ranked opponents in a row without a bye and 3 of those are the aforementioned that had byes before us. Absolute insanity by the league office.

We are their identity. I have said before; I hate Auburn so much I wish we would stop playing them. if they didn’t have the Iron Bowl they wouldn’t be relevant. Every year they get a free Super Bowl. They are a cancer, a parasite, a maggot, a leach; they need us to live. Imagine these last six years if they didn’t have us to look forward to…….their old decrepit stadium would be half full.

Auburn is in a very tricky position. Daniels is a decent QB but if he comes back and struggles (like he did at Stanford) they will have a big issue on their hands. He looked really good against Vandy but that was 1 game with essentially a new OC against a team that had not seen that offense prior on film. He really needs more on field reps to be prepared for Bama’s defense. If they sacrifice that for the dream of next year then they lower their possibility of an upset. But if they hold him out and then lose and next year he struggles they could have some very tough team dynamics at play. Not to mention they will likely be rebuilding with a new coach in that scenario.

We also got bye weeks before 2 of those games, so I don't think it's as bad as it sounds. I don't think the conference will let teams take a bye the week before rivalry week anymore, so aub is doing the next best thing. It wasn't that long ago that they jeopardized their regular season by using the only bye they had the week before us

I hope our AD is all over this with the SEC office. This is a competitive DIS-advantage for their brandname/flagship football program. Bad business on top of just being unfair. Dumb!

They have to hold him out against Mercer. They don’t have a choice.

Scenario A) We beat OU and our ticket is punched with AU keenly aware of it. Scenario B ) We lose to OU and have to fight for our playoff lives with AU keenly aware of it. I choose Scenario A. Either way, they are getting up. I expect 2021/2023 all over again.

Why isn't the REC doing work? lol All joking aside, these the 2024 and 2025 schedule has been gross for us. I wish the SEC would protect its top teams like the B10 does.
