We have won more under Warde than any other AD in history. Let that sink in....

Someone tell Dez that Warde is responsible for allowing a lot of that drama he mentions.

Sometimes you succeed because of leadership, sometimes in spite of it. (Unfortunately, I have to acknowledge this about my kids' successes also.)

Desmond was a teammate of Warde at Michigan, so no surprise here.

FIRE WARDE. The team won, not Warde he had Dusty fall into his lap. The good does not out weigh the bad IMHO.

This entire thing is not that complicated.... Is Warde good at his job? YES!!!! Is Warde bad at his job? YES!!!!

This is my problem with Desmond's statement. Sure, Warde deserves some credit. But most of the drama was his doing! You don't get extra credit for overcoming obstacles you created.

Oh no - this will generate some controversy.

I think Warde is making the rounds and extolling the Athletic Departments accomplishments in an effort to preserve his position with the new President or increase his settlement. My instinct (and some info) tells me he is still likely to be replaced. There is more to the job than the teams winning and multiple incredible failures have occurred under his leadership. I guess we will all know soon enough.

Right. We aren’t winning because of Warde. At best, Warde is winning adjacent and being pulled along by choices he begrudgingly made with his hand forced. That’s as generous as I can be without being wholly unrealistic.

Depends on how you can handle a different opinion.. Love Des....but he's hardly non-biased here, as JimS pointed out. I disagree with him on Warde...but that's fine.

I think the findings from the investigation will lead next steps more so than the epic success the AD is having on the fields/courts/etc.

Wait till you hear under whom the Russians conquered more territory than anyone else in their history... It's almost as if there is more to evaluating someone than one metric. And let's not forget that there are and have been alternatives to Warde at AD. It's hard to say if the median alternative AD (much less a top alternative AD that a place like Michigan could have gotten) would have had the same level of feet-dragging in NIL and handling of the Sherrone affair. It's hard to imagine the median AD doing worse on those fronts, but who knows.

It has been well documented that he wanted to Keep Juwan for another year and then some from BOR had to step in and tell him to get it done. He also needed Beilein to intervene with the hiring of Dusty.

What has he actually done well? He was forced by Ono into opening up with NIL. Literally dragged to the NC event in Houston to get that done. He looked like a total clown during the Harbaugh events and didn’t handle anything during the investigation well. On top of that, the university is getting sued by former staffers all in part because he acted foolishly and supported terminations. He ovesees a department riddled with issues from last football coach as well. When coaches leave many leave with a bad relationship with him in part because he acts like an asshole. Oh and he was forced into the May hiring when he wanted to hit the easy button and land the old Providence coach. So what is he good at?
