North Carolina has reached out to Panathinaikos (Greece) forward/center Alexandros Samodurov, multiple sources confirmed to Inside Carolina. His name has been linked to North Carolina because the Tar Heels received a commitment from former teammate Neoklis Avdalas. However, it’s only in recent days that Michael Malone and his staff have begun a serious pursuit of the lanky 6-foot-11 forward, multiple sources confirmed.
While a formal school list hasn’t been issued, it stands to reason that any school in the market for a forward/center has at least checked in on Samodurov. He’s recently returned to the court for Panathinaikos after being sidelined for a couple months with a toe injury.
