Lots of talk of a potential important announcement in the next week for UK Athletics. Can’t get anyone to confirm 100% or I would report but it would be a big deal.
Put this in the “not scoop” yet but more than scuttlebutt

Athletics as a whole? Probably Barnhart retiring. My fear is we just promote from within.

Don’t get your hopes up on Mitch retiring man! Marc Hill or Rachel Baker will be AD by noon the day it’s announced. They’re going to just promote one of his minions and nothing is going to change

Word on campus rn is that @JacobPolacheck has actually been meeting with the President to take over for Mitch. Heard his asking price is way high though

I think it’s Mitch retiring. He hasn’t seemed happy with the current changes in college athletics in the slightest.

He said with UK athletics that has to be Mitch . And if one people already works in the department that doesn’t mean they will run it same as Mitch does.

What do we have to do for it to be Mitch and for us to get a really good *competent* AD?

If it’s Mitch related, that’s good news and also bad news.

@MattJones its not scuttlebutt if you literally didn’t report anything. Saying there may or may not be an announcement isn’t anything, Atleast without alluding to anything in particular.
