Mike Malone does remind me of a legacy UNC coach but not the one most remember. But the intense direct tough demeanor does harken back to the days of one Frank McGuire! Another hard driving direct Irishman who told you want he thinks and provided a tough nosed brand of basketball. I'm only old enough to remember his days while at South Carolina but his teams were tough. Those patrons on the first rows of the Dean Dome will hear words never uttered from Dean Smith's lips but to be honest with you I'm ready for the change! I think we finally have a fighter on the sidelines who will not back down from anyone including that other team just 8 miles down the road.

Dean Smith was just able to be tough in different ways which is a gift but at least in my opinion that is rare. I was used to being cussed out.
