But what's the RPI? 60% chance to host?

As they should. They didn't compete very well this weekend in Columbus.

Still seemed a bit harsh just like when they dropped NU from the poll after the Oregon series. USC at #18 and NU at #25 seems off.

I think they have to finish the regular season at least 5-2 in order to host. Might even need to go 6-1. At the very least, they have to snap out of their offensive funk from this past weekend. I realize the pitching wasn't very good, but their at bats weren't competitive at all against a very pedestrian Ohio State pitching staff.

Surprised we are still ranked. Getting swept by a below 500 team is bad. Hitting was awful all weekend and Jasa was the only pitcher that showed up.

Pollsters see them for what they are. Weak.

Hoping coming back home this weekend lights a fire in their performance against the Herkeys.

They don’t deserve to be ranked

They aren't "weak"; they are an above avg scrappy team....but not a top 16 team. IMO (and pardon the :poop: pun ;) ), they'll be a SOLID #2 in the tourney.

Pretty confident 5-2 will still do it. Will be interesting to see how they bounce back. Horrible weekend and no midweek for the first time since near the beginning of the season. Getting a break after two consecutive road series might be what the Dr. ordered. They know playing at home is at stake and no margin for error. Overall, its veteran team but pressure can hard so going to be interesting.

5-2 wouldn't do it unless they won a couple games in the Big Ten tourney.

Yeah, seeing the entire lineup go cold all at once was a head scratcher.

Sweeping us moves them about .500, so better optics for us. They earned it with that abortion of a trip. Kinda shocked they're still ranked.

Fortunately most games coincided with softball, so a guy could use two devises, and watch the ladies win the big10

Not getting to host with 5-2, unless they win several games in the big10 tourney

Let's not worry about that right now, as even though next weekend is at home we have Iowa to worry about. Their ERA is pretty much as attrocious as OSU's and we just eaten got eaten for lunch by a bottom feeder in ERA and Batting Average. The difference is, while Iowa has just as an attrocious ERA their hitting is absolutely legit and will put up way more runs than Ohio St did if the same non hitting and horrid pitching we displayed this last weekend shows up and we'll get swept at home and this is truth.

OK. If you’re sure. I was torn. Was about to say “f@ck it, I’m going to worry about it” You posted at the perfect time.

Will be interesting to see how it plays out. With so little of your RPI actually being weighted on your own production I still think it can possibly work. Also not sure how much true influence RPI has on the committee's seeding decisions. I still have a hard time seeing USC host over many teams (including us) with 0-8 Quad 1 record and being swept by us.

Agreed on USC, especially with there already being one Regional in LA. They would have to win the series in Eugene next weekend to even remotely be in the discussion as far as I'm concerned.
