It’s not surprising and it’s not good, but some folks here still think there are coaches beating down our door.

Seems to be 3 tiers there.
I don't want to call us a sleeping giant b/c we've never really historically been good, but there's no reason we shouldn't be able to get to that top tier.
Tons of regional talent. It's so much easier to quickly flip a basketball team than football mostly due to roster size. Feels like fans and admin want to be involved, just need a consistent push over the hump.

That is SIGNIFICANTLY higher on the list than I would have expected.

JakeReuse said:Agree. But it’s never been a great job compared to most SEC schools, and most of those places continue to improve so it’s hard for UGA to catch up. Florida being #5 is crazy. I would've put them top 3.

Exactly what I’ve been saying. We need White to stay a while. Get us to the tournament somewhat consistently. Then after we have a foundation of “hey, they don’t SUCK” then go get a splash hire.

In no universe is UTk top 5, especially behind UF who has 3 rings and TN has zero Final 4s, forget a ring. 10 SEC teams have made final 4, and no TN to be found but they are #4? Yeah, naw.Florida being #5 is crazy. I would've put them top 3.

Just a brain dead and ridiculous assertion and illogical as well. A weak trolling attempt by the board's human information aggregator app. This is very typical Ryan Jordan. Yeah it will still get you paid very well, but these coaches have us way down the pecking order when it comes to job desirability in this league. That’s a problem for the coach shoppers in the fanbase.Every basketball job in the SEC is a coveted job. The #9 job has gone to two Final Fours since we sniffed one. You can do better. There are any number of really good coaches who wanted this job over the years and who would want it if it opened tomorrow. I’ve had this argument many times with know nothing football only folks but never thought I would have it with you. The poll means a lot less than you want it to mean. This is obvious or should be but I get you have an agenda which is this continual superiority complex evidenced by terms like “coach shoppers”. It’s all so stupid. The coach of the number one team in the league would have crawled over broken glass to coach here. No more replies from me as I have better things to do than to engage someone so clearly acting in bad faith.Do better with what lol? It’s not my poll dude. I just wonder why we can’t get it right. We’ve had 7 coaches in the last 30 years since Durham and you could argue that none were great hires (in different ways.)
Tubby: 2 seasons and used us as a stepping stone
Jirsa: terrible hire
Harrick: 62 years when hired, you know the rest
Felton: nothing special
Fox: nothing special
Crean: made Jirsa look like Coach K
White: without a doubt the best hire since Harrick, maybe since Tubby. But as noted here, probably isn’t the long term, sustained-success solution.
We either have an administration not capable of making a the right hire, or they just don’t want to make a slam dunk hire for basketball. Either one is a sign of.program that isn’t a destination job for a top flight head coach.
