Dusty would get more than just Juke Harris in that scenario. I agree that I’d be happy with that also but if Harris is the only guy Dusty lands in the portal, I’d be shocked…regardless of what our NIL limitations would be after offering Rez more super confident in Dusty’s portal game…he’ll get more than one guy

We don’t NEED him, but him coming back would be HUGE!!! And he is def one that could increase his draft stock IMO.

Harris, Bidunga and Mckeever is my hope. Bidunga isn’t completely NIL driven. If so, TTU would’ve locked him up. I also think that Duke has Patrick Ngongba coming back with 5 star PF cam Williams coming in. I really like our chances with those 3.

I think Morez cam here to cultivate his game as a 4. Not sure he wants to move to 5 full time (not that he is unwilling to do so in spots). I think keeping Morez is important, but pairing him with another 7 footer at center like we saw with Mara is what needs to happen. Then you can afford to go with an ultra athletic 3 out of the portal. I'm sure Dusty knows what needs to happen.

What we need is Morez Johnson signed and not in the draft process. Michigan needs the certainty to build the roster. Morez needs to help us and commit to a full return. It helps the coaches too and will give them some time to relax in a few weeks.

Would Bidunga suffice for you? 6’9 but had more blocks per game, points and rebounds per game than Mara.

Agreed. Johnson is not a 5, although he can play it in college, if necessary. Get a true center and let him further develop at the 4...his natural position.

If we get bidunga and Harris and retain Rez cadeau and Trey, with the freshman class we have coming in, that’s a final 4 caliber team no question

It might feel better than this year’s team in April of 2025. Morez and Mara weren’t the stars we saw them become. Not including the emergence of Mckenney and addition of McCoy.

25th pick in the nba draft this year will make 2.5 million dollars next season. I chose 25th as that seems about the average pick for Morez in most mocks. I don’t think there’s any question we can match that. The counter to that argument, however, is starting the clock on his second contract, which is where the $ gets astronomical. But if you look at what’s happening to Jase Richardson, for instance, I think that’s a great comp. You get drafted in the 20s you’re likely on a pretty good roster, you don’t have the sort of freedom a guy on a bad team gets to develop on the floor. It’s very hard to warrant that second contract when you’re playing like 8 mins per night and don’t have a path to major playing time. I would sell it to Morez like this: come back and be the main big in the lineup, keep working on the 3 point shot and prove you can be a stretch big that still protects the rim, and in a good, but not historically great (like this year) 2027 draft class, you will end up in the lottery and you’ll make a bunch of $ to cement yourself as an all time Michigan legend.

He is NBA bound if he sticks a spot inside the top 15-20. NBA has a lot to work with in him. Again wishful thinking, but this a great jumping off point for Morez and going out on top as a National Champion.

And Michigan was damn lucky Yaxel wasnt an arse and asked for more money. He took a lot less to play for Dusty. He was offered a lot more at other schools. That would have left a lot less for other players.
