As the Final Four became filled with one blue blood program after another – Villanova, Duke, Kansas and, finally, North Carolina – ticket demand soared.

As of Tuesday morning, the average purchase price for Saturday’s national semifinals at the Superdome in New Orleans is $699, and the “get-in” price – the cheapest ticket available – is $368. The ticket pricing data is courtesy of TickPick, the New York-based, no-fee secondary ticket marketplace that provided On3 with insights into Final Four buying habits.

That average ticket price is significantly higher than any Final Four in the past eight years. During that span, the average Final Four price has ranged from $202.02 in 2016 to a previous high of $541.24 in 2014.

This Final Four, of course, offers a multitude of storylines, including the final game – or games – for legendary Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski and the first-ever NCAA tournament matchup between Tobacco Road rivals Duke and North Carolina. Then there is Bill Self and Kansas, which won the title in 2008, and Jay Wright and Villanova, which won two titles in the past five tournaments (there was no tournament in 2020).

In all, the four teams in the Final Four account for seven national titles since 2008. It’s a Blue Blood Bonanza.
