The senior season is underway for the Class of 2022 with a number of players making big moves in the On3 updated top 100 for basketball. The list of movers is headlined by four new five stars led by Indiana signee Jalen Hood-Schifino.

Our goal with the On3 Top 100 is to assess a prospect’s long-term potential in college basketball, ultimately manifested by the NBA Draft.

In the On3 100, each prospect is listed with their position, On3 grade, hometown, high school and commitment status if applicable.

The rating scale is as follows: Five-star prospects have grades 98-100, four-star recruits have grades 90-97, while 80-89 grades are for three-stars.

The 2022 On3 Basketball Top 100

There are 14 prospects that are five stars with a rating of 98 or higher. Each recruiting cycle could vary with the number of five stars. The rankings for current cycles will be updated on a regular schedule throughout the year.

New 5 stars in On3 Top 100

Jalen Hood-Schifino, CG, Montverde Academy (Fla.)
On3 ranking: No. 9

The 6-foot-5 Indiana signee has been terrific this season making the move up 18 spots in the latest On3 Top 100. He has displayed an improved and more confident mid-range game, especially going right. He’s also knocking down contested 3-pointers off the catch and bounce. With the improved perimeter game, he has continued to control the game with pace and feel. The next Hoosiers’ point guard also powers through contact to finish in the paint.

Yohan Traore, PF, Glendale (Ariz.) Dream City Christian
On3 ranking: No. 11

One of the top unsigned prospects in the class continues to move toward a decision between college and going pro. The 6-foot-10 big is extremely skilled on the perimeter. He has the confidence to knock down corner 3-pointers, as well as contested mid-range jumpers. He fluidly runs the floor and finishes above the rim in transition. Traore ascended more than any other player from last spring until now. Memphis, Michigan and others remain involved.

Arterio Morris, CG, Dallas (Texas) Kimball
On3 ranking: No. 12

The 6-foot-3 Texas signee moves up two spots from No. 14 to 12 and is now a five-star recruit. Morris continues to be a dominant player in the Dallas/Fort Worth hotbed. The combo guard has always been one of the very best athletes in the 2022 cycle, but his perimeter game has continued to improve. Morris is a very strong rebounding guard, seems the floor, and he can win at all three levels on offense.

Adem Bona, C, Napa (Calif.) Prolific Prep
On3 ranking: No. 13

The future UCLA Bruin didn’t move up a spot in the rankings but did elevate to five-star status. At 6-foot-9, Bona is a difference-maker on the defensive end with his ability to recover and change shots well above the rim. He can be a dominant rebounder out of his area due to reactive quickness and bounce. Flashed an improved and more confident 10-12-footer on the offensive end during the summer. Can be a difference-maker without the ball in hand.

New additions in top 100 to know

Joshua Ojianwuna, PF, NBA Global Academy
On3 ranking: No. 51

The 6-foot-10 big will be the next talented rim protector for Baylor but with a higher offensive upside. Ojianwuna has a strong, powerful body type with the ability to run the floor with fluidity. Finishes well above the rim. He flashes high-end touch inside 10-feet. The ability to develop a go-to move on the offensive end over time will take him to another level as a player.

Jaylen Thompson, SF, Oakland (Calif.) Southern California Academy
On3 ranking: No. 69

At 6-foot-7, Thompson will bring a high-end skill level to the Stanford program. He’s one of the top wing perimeter threats in the 2022 cycle. He can also make 3s in bunches. Has the feel for creating space to get off clean catch and shoot looks. Thompson will need to add strength to his developing frame to maximize his ability. He will gain more confidence off the bounce playing through contact as he makes strength gains.

Jasen Green, SF, Omaha (Neb.) Millard North
On3 ranking: No. 74

The Creighton signee has been overshadowed in Nebraska by Virginia signee Isaac Traudt. But make no mistake, Green is a highly-skilled forward that can present matchup issues at the next level. The 6-foot-7 prospect has displayed a very good feel for the game on the wing, and the versatility and physicality to play power forward effectively at the next level.
