Oziyah Sellers, a 6-foot-5 shooting guard, has committed to USC basketball for the class of 2022, he tells On3.

Sellers is the Trojans’ second commitment in the class, following elite power forward Kijani Wright.

Sellers plays for Southern California Academy. He chose the Trojans over Arizona State, Washington, Mississippi State, Creighton, among others.

Oziyah Sellers on why he chose USC

“I’ve been following USC pretty much my whole life,” Oziyah Sellers said. “Last year, I went up to the campus with my family and I’m like ‘Yo, this is where I wanna be.’ After Pangos, I got the offer and then it was pretty much a no-brainer.”

Sellers he will take an official visit to USC on Sept. 24th weekend.

“I’m just looking forward to all aspects,” he said. “Just seeing all the faculties, hearing how I can fit into their system, and what plans they have for me. I’m super excited.

“The relationship I built with the coaches allowed USC to stand out. Now they have coach Jay Mo (Morris), who was at San Diego State. I’ve built a great relationship with him. When he told me he was going to USC, that was just an extra bonus. They had a lot of similar guards like me that are playing pro right now. So I just feel it would be an all-around good fit for me.”

Sellers has already started doing his part recruiting.

“I’m gonna try to get Jaylen Thompson, my teammate at So Cal Academy right now,” he said. “We’ve had little talks about going to college together. But now that it gonna happen for me, I’m gonna try to get him.”
