2023 Alabama DL Emmanuel Waller commits to BYU
Chelsea (Ala.) defensive lineman Emmanuel Waller has committed to BYU, he announced on Friday afternoon.
Waller is currently unranked by the On3 Consensus, but held a dozen Division I offers, including West Virginia, Wake Forest, Mississippi State, Indiana and Duke.
“First and foremost I would like to thank God for everything he has blessed me with and I would not be in the position I am in without Him,” Waller wrote on Twitter. “I would also like to thank my parents for everything they do for me and for supporting me in everything I do. Mom always made sure I was where I needed to be on time and was on me about my grades. Dad always tried to help me in my craft and was really set on teaching me put God first when I’m out there on the field and in everything I do. I’d also like to thank The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for always supporting me in everything I do and I really appreciate it. Times when we were struggling and needed assistance, there has always been someone there for me and my family. Beyond blessed to be apart of this church! Would also like to thank all my coaches for always pushing me to be the best I can be and teaching me.

As a junior last season at Chelsea, Emmanuel Waller amassed 66 tackles, 14 TFLs, four sacks, 12 quarterback pressures, and forced a fumble. He is the Cougars’ fourth commitment in the 2023 class and second from outside the state of Utah.
