2025 in-state breakdown: Elijah Griffin, Zayden Walker headline top Georgia prospects

Georgia has become one of the hotbeds in high school football recruiting and that hasn’t changed with the 2025 cycle. On3 released its 2025 On300 on Monday and the state had 29 players make the list.

Of the 29 players from Georgia that made it, 22 were ranked as four or five-star prospects.

Here’s a look at those 22 and an early glance at where their recruitment stands.

5-star DL DL Elijah Griffin

School: Savannah Christian Prep
On3 Ranking: No. 2
On3 RPM: South Carolina 35.9%, Georgia 21.3%, Florida State 9.6%, Alabama 8.0%

The Skinny: Elijah Griffin is one of the most sought after sophomores in the entire country. He already holds offers from nearly every major program in the country. He attended South Carolina’s Junior Day on Jan. 28, was recently at Alabama and Georgia is also heavily involved in his recruitment.

5-star EDGE Zayden Walker

School: Schley County
On3 Ranking: No. 5
On3 RPM: Florida State 29.1%, Florida 25.5%, Georgia 16.5%, Alabama 9.3%

The Skinny: Georgia was the first school to offer Zayden Walker and the Bulldogs have hosted him several times already. Walker visited Auburn this month and the schools from the Sunshine State are all making a push to pull Walker out of Georgia.

4-star RB Ousmane Kromah

School: Lee County

The Skinny:
Ousmane Kromah took visits to multiple schools last season including South Carolina, Florida State and UCF and before that he took a visit to Georgia last March and Alabama last June. A big fan of former Alabama and current Pittsburgh Steelers running back Najee HarrisKromah told Chad Simmons that his offer from the Crimson Tide last September was a “big one”.

School: Fellowship Christian School
On3 Ranking: No. 18
On3 RPM: Georgia Tech 19.5%, Tennessee 17.1%, South Carolina 14.6%, Charlotte 12.2%, Virginia Tech 12.2%, Houston 12.2%, Tulane 12.2%

The Skinny:
A prospect on the rise, Josh Petty currently holds eight offers but that number should grow exponentially over the next few years. Georgia Tech will have the honoring of hosting him first next Friday and he plans on visiting Tennessee soon.

4-star CB Jontae Gilbert

School: Douglass
On3 Ranking: No. 25
On3 NIL Valuation$134K
The Skinny:
Jontae Gilbert may be one of the top recruits from the Peach State but he chose to commit out of state early on. Gilbert committed to Ohio State last July and while he’s picked up several more offers since then and taken visits to other schools, he remains a firm Buckeyes commit.

4-star S Kendarius Reddick

School: Thomas County Central
On3 Ranking: No. 32
On3 RPM: Georgia Tech 30.8%, Virginia Tech 26.9%, Kentucky 23.1%, Arkansas 19.2%

The Skinny:
Kendarius Reddick is starting to pick up momentum on the recruiting trail. He holds nine total offers but six of those are from Power Five schools including Arkansas, Iowa, Kentucky, Tennessee and Virginia Tech.

Tavion Wallace is starting to his stock rise on the recruiting trail as he’s picked up offers from Georgia Southern, Mississippi State and Florida State over the last three months. Prior to those three offers, Wallace had offers from Arizona, Boston College, Kentucky, Troy and UCF.

4-star LB Jadon Perlotte

School: Buford
On3 Ranking: No. 45

The Skinny: Jadon Perlotte’s
taken his fair share of visits in the new year to places like Alabama and USC, but he remains firmly committed to the Bulldogs. Perlotte announced his commitment to Georgia Dec. 8.

School: Charlton County

The Skinny:
Florida State recently emerged as the favorite for Elyiss Williams following his second visit to campus on March 14. Recruiting Williams likely won’t be easy for the Seminoles though as he’s also being recruited by Georgia, LSU, Tennessee, Auburn and Miami.

4-star DL Justus Terry

School: Manchester
On3 Ranking: No. 54

The Skinny:
Justus Terry helped build the foundation of what is already a solid 2025 recruiting class for Georgia with his commitment on Jan. 16. His decision to commit to Georgia came just two days after he visited campus for the second time.

School: Buford

On3 RPM: Alabama 31.9%, Florida State 27.9%

The Skinny:
Devin Williams had a huge January picking up offers from Alabama, Texas A&M, Texas, Michigan State, Colorado, Florida State, Auburn, Penn State, and Florida. He’s also visited Alabama and Florida State so far this spring.

School: Parkview
On3 Ranking: No. 85
On3 RPM: Georgia 75.4%, South Carolina 14.2%

The Skinny:
Georgia offered Cortez Smith last November and he’s visited Athens with the last visit coming in January. While the Bulldogs lead early on, South Carolina remains in the mix following his visit to campus on March 18.

School: Houston County

On3 RPM: Georgia 27.7%, Tennessee 14.8%, Alabama 12.6%

Antwann Hill’s visited Georgia more than any other school but following his visit to Alabama on March 4, he picked up an offer from the Crimson Tide. He told BamaInsider’s Joseph Hastings that the offer from Alabama ‘meant everything’ to him.

Juan Gaston made his first trip to Georgia last November as he watched the Bulldogs handle then-No. 1 Tennessee. He returned to campus in January and told Chad Simmons, “Now that I have been there a couple of times, I really like the coaches and how they win. Winning is pretty big for me. I want to win championships, be developed and have the chance to go first round in the NFL Draft.”

School: Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School

Justin Hasenhuetl is still a fairly under-the-radar prospect but he does hold three Power Five offers from Florida State, Louisville and Vanderbilt. He’s also visited Georgia twice but has yet to pick up an offer from the Bulldogs.

Emaree Winston is receiving a lot of attention lately from SEC programs like Ole Miss and Kentucky but it may be a team in the Big Ten they’ll need to beat out. Winston’s visited Ohio State twice already and will be back on campus April 14 for the Buckeyes’ spring game.

The Skinny:
Florida offered London Merritt and the Gators have been high on his list since then. The Gators may be the team to beat now following Merritt’s latest visit to Gainesville as he told On3, “They are top of my list, especially after this visit. I liked it a lot and have seen a lot going on. I see myself out there and doing the things the players are doing, so after today’s visit, they definitely moved up my list. They’re up there.”

4-star DL Nicolai Brooks

School: Buford
On3 Ranking: No. 142

The Skinny:
South Carolina has been after Nicolai Brooks hard since offering in December but its the in-state Bulldogs who have the early lead in his recruitment. Brooks last visited Georgia on Jan. 14 and told On3’s Jeremy Johnson that he currently focused on school but loves Georgia.

The new year has been a good one for EJ Colson as he’s picked up several new Power Fiveoffers. He’s set to have a busy April ahead as well with visits to Tennessee (April 3), Cincinnati (April 5) and Virginia Tech (April 6) on the horizon.

School: Newton
On3 Ranking: No. 175
On3 RPM: Tennessee 53.3%, West Virginia 46.7%

Zion Johnson’s a more under-the-radar prospect up to this point but has taken a visit to Kentucky and also holds offers from Eastern Kentucky, Charlotte, Tennessee and Western Kentucky.

Peyton Joseph told On3’s Chad Simmons at the beginning of the year that three schools standing out to him so far are Alabama, Georgia and Florida. While those three are still heavily in the mix, Joseph told Jeremy Johnson that Clemson, Florida State and Miami are also on his radar.

School: Milton
