Jayden Williams is the No. 8 player in On3’s 2024 rankings. The 6-foot-8 forward from Snellville (GA) Brookwood High has as much upside as any forward in the class.

“I can do a little bit of everything on offense,” Williams told On3. “I can post up, shoot the ball, dribble, get to the rim, and create my own shot. I’m handling the ball better now, able to create and attack the basket. Mainly my confidence in my perimeter game has improved. I watch a lot of Anthony Davis and Joel Embiid on the defensive side. How they can move certain ways and still protect the rim. Offensively, I watch a lot of Kevin Durant and the things he is able to do with the ball.”

He played this weekend on the Adidas 3SSB circuit with the Atlanta Celtics 16u team. On3 caught up with Jayden Williams after one of his Session 1 games to get the latest on his recruitment.

“I have offers from Xavier, Georgia Tech, Georgetown, Florida, and Albany,” Williams said. “I am hearing a lot from Clemson and Miami too. None of them have offered, but we hear a lot from them.” (editor’s note – Auburn offered after the event ended)

Williams talks recruitment

Xavier: “Their new coaching staff reached out right after they got there. I don’t know a lot about them yet, but that meant a lot.”

Georgia Tech: “I went to a couple of their games this year, and they do a lot of stuff through their guards. They have a good coaching staff that I like.”

Florida: “That is a new offer for me; I just picked it up. I know they got a new coach, and I haven’t been able to really research them yet.”

Williams take

“I want to look for an at home feel, where I have a good relationship with the coaches. I want to play for a coach who truly cares about me and will let me do the things I can do on the court and not just do things because I’m big.”

On3’s take

Jayden Williams’s length and athleticism make him very intriguing right off the bat. He has excellent timing as a shot-blocker, and he is an instinctive rebounder, in and out of his area. Offensively, he is fluid in his movements, and he shows touch from the free-throw line and has a consistent release. Around the basket, he plays above the rim. He needs to continue gaining strength, and would like to see him gain a go-to move with his back to the basket. He can face the basket and put it on the floor, and this is a developing piece to his game we think will be a threat in the future. There is a lot of current production and a lot of upside still to attain.
