Dellquan Warren is one of the midwest’s quickest guards in the 2024 class. With his quickness and flash, the 6-foot-1 sophomore at Erie (PA) Keystone Prep has routinely brought crowds to their feet this season.

“I’m a point guard, so I try to get my teammates involved,” Warren told On3. “I play a lot in the screen and roll and then driving and kicking, but can score anytime I want, though. I watch a lot of Chris Paul and De’Arron Fox, how they play in the pick and roll and get their teammates involved off the bounce.”

This summer, college programs started to take notice with the Wildcats Select program on the Adidas 3SSB 16u circuit. On3 caught up with Dellquan Warren after a recent win to discuss what schools prioritize him.

“I have offers from Maryland, Kent State, Youngstown State, and I just picked up Rutgers,” Warren said. “I took an unofficial visit to Ohio State, and I am looking to take more soon.”

Warren talks recruitment

Rutgers: “I talk with coach (TJ) Thompson, and he talks a lot about building a relationship with me and getting to know me. When he offered me, he talked about how much I fit into their program and how their point guards play. I wouldn’t have to change my game.”

Maryland: “They were on me a lot. I got the offer at the end of my ninth-grade year. They continued to build a relationship from there. I liked what that old staff had to offer.”

Ohio State: “I like how they move the ball; all their players played at 100-percent the whole game. The love there is crazy, the fans and the team. They are saying I am one of their top recruits at my position in that class, so they will be one of the schools I’ll be looking at.”

“We have also heard from Oklahoma State and Indiana a good bit,” Warren said. “I want to go see Pittsburgh soon, see what they’re like.”

Warren’s take

“I will be looking at the love they show,” Warren said. “Whatever school shows the most love; coaches, fans, etc. I want to play for a coach who lets their point guards rock, get downhill, and have a drive and kick style.”

On3’s take

Dellquan Warren is a jet-quick lead guard. He has a tight handle that gets him anywhere on the court, off the bounce. Warren has natural floor vision and a crafty way of creating angles and passing lanes. He will have to reign in his decision-making as it can get wild at times, but it is better to slow a guy down than rev his engine up. The jump shot is streaky, but he knocks down the mid-range pull-ups. Warren comes from an athletic background with multiple family members playing college basketball or football. As he matures, watch for him to trend as one of the top point guards in his region.
