Jarin Stevenson is the 2024 On3 Consensus No. 21 ranked player. The 6-foot-9 sophomore is a standout for Team United on the EYBL 16u circuit averaging 11.4 points and 6.6 rebounds per game for his undefeated, eight-win, no-loss team.

“I have been working hard during summer workouts,” Stevenson told On3. “A lot of off the dribble work and off the catch moves. I have worked a lot on my base and footwork on both ends of the floor.”

With the live evaluation period back open in April, Div. 1 college coaches could get to certified events and see players they prioritize. On3 caught up with Jarin Stevenson recently to see where things were at in his recruitment

“I saw some UNC coaches at most of my games this April,” Stevenson said. “Coach Hubert (Davis) and Coach (Jeff) Lebo mainly. I also saw the coaches from Virginia a lot.”

Stevenson talks recruitment

“I don’t have any exact plans for visits yet this summer, but I expect I will try to go see UNC and Virginia again,” Stevenson said.

North Carolina: “The coaches have been really nice to me when I have been able to speak with them. On my last visit there, they showed me around a little bit. The players greeted me really well; they were great. The facilities over there are great. Everything has been pretty good over there so far.”

Virginia: “The coaches greeted me well when I went on my visit up there. Their five pillars I really like it is how I try to live my life as well.

“When I go on visits this summer,” Stevenson said, “I want to see the facilities and get a good feel for the campuses. I’ll look at the rooms on campus and all the gyms and areas they have for me to get better. I’d want to go around and meet more people around the school and programs, see how I fit with them.”

Contrasting styles of play

“I like both of their systems, and I think I could play in both,” Stevenson said. “I haven’t really figured myself out yet, but I am still growing myself. Maybe as we get down the line, we can sit down with the coaches and see more specifically how I fit in with each.”

Stevenson’s take

“I want to go to a place that has a good community,” Stevenson said. “The fan base, the team, the relationship with the coaches. I will start looking more into the systems next year. Look into the teammates who will be there with me and what style will suit my game the best.”

On3’s take

Jarin Stevenson comes from a basketball family. His mother played at North Carolina, and his father was a 1,400 point scorer at Richmond before playing professionally overseas for ten-plus years. Stevenson is skilled; with good size, he can push the break or shoot the three. While he is still growing into his frame and athleticism, he has good wiggle and excellent hand-eye coordination. He is a good athlete, and he has a natural nose for the ball. Stevenson can take over games; the next step in his progression will be consistently doing it every quarter, every night.

Stevenson’s On3 NIL Valuation

2024 four-star Jarin Stevenson’s current On3 NIL Valuation is $9,000. This valuation ranks Stevenson 140th in high school basketball.

The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets the standard market NIL value for high school and college-level athletes. A proprietary algorithm, the On3 NIL Valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a specific moment in time.

The On3 NIL Valuation is comprised of many dynamic data points that focus on three primary categories: social media, athletic performance, and endorsements and collectives.
