Junior receiver Jurrion Dickey of San Jose (Calif.) Valley Christian is one of the most coveted receivers in the 2023 class. And Tuesday night, 6-foot-2, 210-pound four-star prospect picked up a coveted offer from the USC Trojans.

Dickey, who is the No. 73 player in the On3 Top 100 for 2023, shared news of the offer in a social media post. In the post, Dickey is decked out in USC gear. He is holding the “The Sword” – an iconic part of Trojan football history.

The USC offer is a big one, Scott Schrader of On3’s WeAreSC said.

“Jurrion is an athletic, physical and sure-handed pass-catcher who was one of the standout performers at The Opening in July,” Schrader said. “He’s also a high character kid, very coachable and the type of hard-working kid USC coaches are looking for.”

The offer is the 15th on the table for the fast-rising NorCal prospect.

Along with the USC offer, Dickey has offers from Cal, Oregon, UCLA, Arizona, Arizona State, Arkansas, Colorado, Fresno State, Michigan State, Nevada, Oregon State, Pittsburgh, San Jose State and UNLV.

Dickey attended Oregon’s Saturday Night Live camp earlier this summer. He was also at Cal, UCLA and USC in June. Dickey was one of the underclass stars this summer at The Opening Invitational in Southern California.

Jurrion Dickey has a recruiting plan

Jurrion Dickey says he’s not in a rush to decide and is “weighing out” all of his options. He plans on taking several unofficial visits throughout the Fall. Then he will begin to line up official visits after his season is over.

Those visits should shape his decision-making process. If he sees enough from his top schools, Dickey said he will probably commit after his junior season.

What makes Dickey elite?

Jurrion Dickey is already a household name on the West Coast recruiting trail. On3 National Analyst Gerry Hamilton said Dickey will have plenty of national offers before he’s done.

What’s intriguing about Dickey is that he’s a three-sport star. Dickey excels in basketball in track. He ran an 11.34-second 100-meter dash time in 2020. He also had a 23.01-second 200 meter as a sophomore. Dickey also long-jumped 20 feet, 6 ½ inches.

His sophomore film – consists of only four games because of COVID regulations in California – is impressive Hamilton said.

“He’s a very talented big athlete with terrific feet,” Hamilton said. “He’s a physical presence on the field that can be a bully when at receiver. He displays quick feet, plus a change of direction and a feel for creating separation out of cuts on offense.

“He makes sure-handed receptions. But his highest ceiling is on defense. He flashes safety athleticism with a future OLB frame. Will strike and punish downhill.”
