Buford (Ga.) athlete Isaiah Bond committed to Florida early in May. After seeing the Gators struggle this season, and now the firing of Dan Mullen, the 5-foot-10, 170-pound speedster has re-opened his recruitment.

“I have been thinking about this for a little while now,” Bond said. “I had talked to coach Mullen about my questions and how I had concerns a few weeks ago.

“It had been something I was thinking about. The firing Sunday really set things into stone for me. I opened things back up.”

This decommitment four-star in the On3 Consensus comes off an unofficial visit to Alabama. The Crimson Tide were in Bond’s top two when he committed to Florida in the spring.

“Alabama stayed with me, they have been consistent, and it is a school I am looking at. They always told me that recruiting was about the long run, not the short run, so they have stayed with me.”

On the visit Saturday, Bond spent time with Nick Saban, Holmon Wiggins, and Charles Kelly.

“The Alabama coaches made me feel important. They still want me and I have a lot of interest in them still.”

Georgia and Texas are two more schools Bond mentioned. Others could come now that he is back on the market, but

“I am going to sit back and evaluate my options again,” Bond said. “Georgia is a school I could visit because it is so close, and I have looked into taking a visit to Texas, but nothing is set.

“My decommitting could open things up with new schools, so I just want to take some time to see.

“I know Alabama, Georgia, and Texas are schools I am looking at. I will see what else happens.”

Bond is not sure if he will sign in December or February.
