Dailyn Swain is the 2023 On3 Consensus No. 93 player. The 6-foot-7 guard helped lead his All Ohio team to a four and one record at EYBL Louisville. Swain averaged 9.0 points,5.4 assists, 1.6 steals, and 1.8 blocks per game during the session.

“I’m a positionless, super versatile guard,” Swain told On3. “I do whatever the coach wants me to do on the floor, play defense, shoot, facilitate, anything he needs. I like Paul George and Shai Gilgeous Alexander. Their ability to control the offense and play so smooth and at such a tall height, like me.”

College programs have already taken notice of the Columbus (OH) Afrocentric Early College guard. On3 caught up with Dailyn Swain this weekend to see which programs were prioritizing him in his recruitment.

I’ve only taken one official visit to Marquette,” Swain said. “I’m working on setting official visit dates for Cal and NC State. I want to see Marquette again too.”

Swain talks recruitment

Marquette: “I learned a lot about their coaching staff and the energy around the program. I learned a lot about the Big East on that visit, too; it’s a really good conference. They have a lot of positionless flow, and they let their players play; that is what I like. As long as you play defense, you will get in the games.”

NC State: “They have a lot of big guards there and have had a lot of big guards come through and go to the next level. I’m a big guard, so that’s intriguing. They have guards going into the draft now that are my height, so they do well with players like me.”

California: “There is a lot of positionless play with them. The PAC-12 is smooth basketball, and I enjoy and think that I could fit in that conference.”

“They haven’t offered yet, but we hear from USC (Southern Cal) some,” Swain said.

Swain’s take

“I want to commit after then summer, before my senior year,” Swain said. “I want to go to a school where I can come in and play, make an impact. Winning is big too. I wouldn’t say location really matters to me, but fit. Player development is a big piece for me too.”

On3’s take

Dailyn Swain is a length guard with a projectable frame. He is comfortable on the ball, initiating in half and full court. Swain sees the floor well and is slippery, in transition, attacking the rim. He is very unselfish; you would almost like to see him be more aggressive in attacking the basket. Swain is also very you for his grade, with an ’05 birthday. He will need to continue adding weight and grow in aggressiveness. There are a lot of tools to like here with some ceiling for continued growth.
