4-star OL Leo Delaney commits to Clemson: 'They're a one-of-a-kind program'

Charlotte (N.C.) Providence Day School four-star interior offensive lineman Leo Delaney spent this past weekend at Clemson for an official visit, and that changed his recruitment.
The No. 128 overall prospect in the 2026 On3 Industry Ranking was set to visit Penn State this weekend, then head to Michigan on the weekend of June 14, but those visits will no longer take place.
“My top three schools were dead even going into that visit, but getting on campus, being around the people and just getting another feel for that culture pushed me over in the end,” Delaney told On3.
“The official visit was huge for me. Clemson was always a top program for me. Coach Dabo Swinney runs a great program where he develops the person and the player. Coach Matt Luke is a great offensive line coach who develops players.
“What really made the biggest impact on me on the visit was being around the players. Everyone enjoys being there. The culture is different. Everyone wants to be there and that is where I want to be. They’re a one-of-a-kind program.”

The culture at Clemson set the Tigers apart
If you follow recruiting, you hear about that culture at Clemson a lot. That is exactly what set the Tigers apart from the Wolverines and Nittany Lions.
“That was the X-Factor. Coach Swinney’s culture. Everyone is completely bought in. You hear about it, but coach Swinney is different. The whole program is different. Every player, every coach, every fan – all are bought in. There is a different kind of love for the program. Everyone loves Clemson. It is a special place.”
Coach Luke played a role too. As soon as Swinney hired him to be the offensive line coach, he made Delaney a priority and the No. 130 prospect in the On3 Industry Ranking is excited to work with him in the future.
“My goal is to live out my dream and to play in the NFL and I believe in coach Luke,” Delaney said. “I will go in, work my butt off and I believe he wil do all he can to get me to the NFL. He is passionate about what he does. He loves what he does. Coach Luke is so intense and I can’t wait to play for him.”
