Four-star running back and the No. 286 overall recruit in the On300 George Pettaway of Suffolk (Va.) Nansemond-Suffolk Academy will announce his commitment Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. EST on CBS Sports HQ.

Pettaway will choose between finalists Florida, North Carolina, Oregon and Penn State.

On3’s Chad Simmons reports that most people feel the decision is between North Carolina and Penn State.

“I would say I am about 75-80-percent sure of the school I am committing to,” Pettaway told Simmons last week. “Communication with the four schools will remain the same and I will just make sure of my decision. I do not plan to take anymore visits before my commitment.”

How to watch George Pettaway’s announcement

Pettaway will make his announcement from his high school and will be broadcast live on CBS Sports HQ.

The decision will be announced around 6:30 p.m. EST.

CBS Sports HQ is a free online streaming sports channel. Anybody with an internet connection can watch the announcement at cbssports.com/live/.

Where George Pettaway fits in each team’s class

Florida has one running back commit in the class of 2022 in Winter Park (Fla.) four-star Terrance Gibbs. Gibbs is ranked No. 256 in the On300.

Four of Florida’s six pledges in the On300 are offensive skill position players. This includes Buford (Ga.) High athlete Isaiah Bond.

Pettaway would be the second four-star running back to commit to the Tar Heels. Clayton (N.C.) Cleveland running back Omarion Hampton — ranked No. 245 in the On300 — pledged to the program in July.

UNC has eight On300 commits including Alabaster (Ala.) Thompson quarterback Conner Harrell, who has had an amazing start to his season.

Oregon is the only school of Pettaway’s four finalists not to have a running back currently committed to the roster. They also have eight On300 commits, including two of the 10 best wide outs in the country.

The Nittany Lions currently have the best recruiting class in the country, and Pettaway would be another major get for James Franklin.

George Pettaway would be the third running back prospect to commit to Penn State along with On3’s No. 2 RB Nicholas Singleton out of Reading (Pa.) Governor Mifflin and four-star Kaytron Allen.

Pettaway would be the 10th player from the On300 committed to the Nittany Lions.

Pettaway is a potential star

The week before that, the Under Armour All-American had 15 carries for 325 rushing yards and again had five touchdowns.
