Charlotte (N.C.) Combine Academy four-star combo guard Silas Demary Jr. tells On3 he will take an official visit to USC (Southern Cal) on September 3rd. He’s also in the midst of planning an official to NC State. He unofficially visited the Wolfpack earlier this month.

Editor’s note: Demary will officially visit NC State on September 9-11.

Tennessee, VCU, and St. John’s have also officially hosted the 6-foot-5, 180-pound Demary.

Demary ranks as the No. 112 overall prospect in the 2023 class, according to the On3 Consensus, the average ranking from all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 14 combo guard and the No. 1 player in the state of S.C.

On3’s is much higher on Demary than the industry, ranking him 61st nationally.

Demary discusses his game, what he’s looking for in a school

“I’m an all-around player,” Demary, Jr. told On3 in a previous interview. “I’m a lead guard, can get my teammates involved; I can score the ball. I try to watch as many guys who play both sides of the ball as Marcus Smart and Jayson Tatum; like their leadership and how they lead their team.”

What’s he looking for in his future home?

“I’m going to be looking at the relationships,” Demary, Jr. said. “I’ll be talking to the coaches and talking with the players there. Ask a lot of questions about the school, the team, their vision, things like that; see what they’re all about. I’ll be checking out the overall environment. I’m an extroverted guy, and I want to see around the city and the atmosphere.

Scouting Summary

Demary is a high-level defender, both on and off the ball. Great length. Excellent anticipation. He really competes at a high level. A combo guard on offense. Not a paint touch PG, but he can get you into sets and sees the floor well. He is an aggressive downhill scorer. Great in transition. Solid athlete. Would like to see him continue to tighten the jump shot. State champion. UAA champion.
