Four-star senior wide receiver Shazz Preston of St. James, La., has narrowed his list to four schools. Preston said Alabama, Georgia, Texas and LSU are the four schools he’s focused on now.

The 6-foot, 190-pound Preston previously announced a top seven in April. He cut Miami, Mississippi State and USC this time around.

Preston is ranked as the No. 87 player in the On300. He is also the No. 13 receiver and the seventh-ranked player in Louisiana. Preston is playing in the 2022 Under Armour All-American game in Orlando.

“T-town (Tuscaloosa) has that dog mentality,” Preston said. “Everyone is on the same page. Everyone is going hard at practice to get better. The fans out there are amazing and everyone is all eyes and ears when Alabama football comes on.

“Coach (Holmon) Wiggins likes how I play. He likes the dog in me. Coach (Nick) Saban told me that I would be perfect in the offense as well and would love for me to play for him.”

Shazz Preston on Georgia

“Georgia is on the come up and is about to show some colleges that they are coming for their necks,” Preston said. “But coach (Cortez) Hankton has been my guy since I was in middle school. He’s been following me and telling me that he would want to coach me because he knows what I could bring to the table. The atmosphere is great there as well, and the love is real.”

Preston on Texas

“Austin was great,” Preston said. “I love the people and the environment. It’s a good vibe with some great football. Coach (Steve) Sarkisian and coach (Andre) Coleman would love to have me. They show nothing but love, and Coach Sark told me he always had that one Louisiana guy and said I would be that guy to do great things in his program.”

Preston on LSU

“It’s the crib,” Preston said. “Coach (Mickey) Joseph and the offensive staff really believe that I can make a big impact in their offense. The environment is great, and it’s my home town. LSU is just a great spot I could see myself in.”
