Baye Fall is the No. 7 player in the 2023 On3 Consensus. The 6-foot-10 forward showcased his high-motor, high-flying skill set in front of dozens of coaches at this weekend’s Adidas 3SSB session.

“I’m a two-way player, running up and down the court,” Fall told On3. “I give great energy. I block shots on defense and push it down on the offensive end. I’m an underrated passer from the high post. I don’t really think my game is much like anyone. I work with great people, and we just keep adding new stuff to my game. I’m a high upside player, and we keep finding new stuff. I have improved a lot as a passer and mid-range shooter.”

On3 caught up with Baye Fall this weekend to see the five-star’s plans for visits, which schools were standing out, and talk about pro opportunities.

“I took an unofficial visit to Arkansas,” Fall said. “That is my only visit so far. Right now, there are a lot of teams who want visits; we are going to start to go after I finish school. We are looking at Rutgers, Auburn, Colorado, and Baylor.”

Fall talks recruitment

Arkansas: “It was a great atmosphere there; I didn’t know things were like that. They played Kentucky that game, and it was packed; I couldn’t see the court because everyone was standing. Going into the locker room and seeing them practice it is a fun team. You can tell the coach is a good guy. It is like a family over there.”

Baylor: “Their style of play, they run a lot, get up the floor. They are used to playing with big people, letting them play their game. They just won a national championship two years ago. They’re a good team.”

Rutgers: “They are in the Big 10; their coach is a good friend of my dad; he is a good guy. They have been really hard on me throughout the process, and they let me know they really like me. I haven’t had a chance to really watch them play much, but they let their big guys play based on the little bit I have seen.”

Colorado: “It is a good team. I have been there a couple of times to watch a game; they have a good atmosphere. I know a few of their players. Seeing how they developed Jabari (Walker) is impressive, and I kind of have some similarities with him. They are in the PAC 12, which is a really good conference for my style of play.”

Auburn: “I was really impressed this year with how they played Jabari Smith; they helped him be the potential No. 1 pick. They developed his game; I watched him in high school, and he developed a lot as a shooter this year. I think they have great player development, and I think the coach is cool over there.”

The G-League, OTE, and early graduation…

“The G-League has talked with my dad before, and Overtime Elite has talked with us a couple of times,” Fall said. “Right now, it wouldn’t work because my family and I didn’t think it would be good for us. We may revisit pro options in the future, like the G-League or overseas options, but we are looking to stick to school for now.

“Coming out in 2022 or 2023 is still up in the air. We will look at how I do this summer, see how my body develops, and my game. If it is the route we want to go, I am on track to be able to graduate early if we want, but we will see how my body develops.”

On3’s take

Baye Fall plays with a great motor, and that leads to ample production. He has good size with great length and is very fluid in his movements. Fall has touch that extends out to the three-point line, but his offensive game is still very raw. Fall plays best as the roll man or in the dunker spots. He is a good offensive rebounder, a put-back dunk threat off missed shots. Fall will need to continue adding strength. He does not have much with his back to the basket, and his pick and pop or trail jump shot feels a bit mechanical. Fall moves his feet well laterally and plays with vertical explosion. He is an active rebounder, a good shot blocker, and is instinctive in the passing lanes.
