ACC coaching staffs have been busy. The conference went on a tear offering young players in the state of Georgia the last few days.

Prospective athletes haven’t been trudging through the halls of the team facilities for the last few weeks.

Many coaches in the conference have been herded between conference rooms during media day proceedings in Charlotte this week.

The assistants had some free time to go send out some offers.

Notable Georgia 2023 prospects to pick up ACC offers

There were a few elite players from the class of 2023 that picked up offers from programs in the ACC.

The first was Ethan Nation. The Roswell High School (Georgia) star picked up an offer from North Carolina State on Wednesday.

Nation has offers from nearly every program in the ACC already.

Justice Haynes picked an offer from Virginia Tech. The star running back at Blessed Trinity High School in Georgia, like Nation, has offers that cover most of the ACC.

Collins Hill (Georgia) junior wide receiver Ethan Davis was offered by Florida State on Tuesday. Davis has seen his recruitment explode since spring practices ended in May.

He now has offers from 15 Division I schools, all have come since May. Davis also have a Power 5 offers for basketball.

Davis’ Collins’ Hill teammate Travis Hunter has been committed to Florida State since March of 2020. The Florida State coaching staff has already made an impression on Davis.

“Coach (Alex) Atkins and coach (Ryan) Bartow were awesome guys to talk to and definitely looking forward to building a relationship with the rest of the coaching staff,” Davis said.

Alex Cunningham of Johns Creek High School (Georgia) picked up an offer from Pittsburgh. The 6’6” edge from the class of 2024 already has offers from a gaggle of SEC programs.

Young players generating interest in ACC and nationally

Collins Hill is flush with talent. Jayden Davis spent a ton of time on the field for the 7A runner ups as a sophomore.

He’s expected to be one of the team’s premier players in 2021. Davis’ recruitment is heating up as well. The 6’2” safety picked up two SEC offers in the last week.

Kentucky offered Davis on July 14. Ole Miss offered Davis on Tuesday. The new heat in his recruiting process has been exciting to Davis. He hopes that it’s just the beginning.

“They’re very good programs and I’m ready to step in and do my part and get this part started,” Davis said.

North Forsyth Organized Team Activities provides glimpse into future

Some big-time programs descended upon North Forsyth High School for joint padded practices. Milton High School, Collins Hill High School and Mill Creek were among the teams in attendance.

All three programs carried with them some elite players. Missouri commit Sam Horn quarterbacks Collins Hill, though he did not take part on Wednesday.

Florida State commit Travis Hunter was present with his Collins Hill teammates, though he didn’t dress out for the practices.

Elite safety Caleb Downs took part with the Mill Creek team. The top ranked player in the class of 2023, Lebbeus Overton made the trip with Milton.

There were a few younger, lesser publicized faces that grabbed attention during the competitive scrimmages.

Who were the young stars?

Debron Gatling, Milton High School, wide receiver, Class of 2024

Gatling played a lot as a freshman. He’s got a dozen major college offers. He showcased why he has those offers and why he could be a major name in his class.

Gatling snaked behind the North Forsyth defense about halfway through the final session of the day and snagged a long touchdown.

He possesses some big play potential that will make him a danger to any defense as soon as this year.

Jayden Davis, Collins Hill, Safety, Class of 2023

As mentioned above, Davis is beginning to heat up on the recruiting trail. He filled in as one of the lead voices in a loaded secondary with Hunter not dressed out.

Davis has size to just eat up ground in coverage and coming up in the run game. He also flipped over and played offense as well.

Jaylen George, Collins Hill, Offensive and Defensive line, Class of 2022

George is a good football player.

He’s one of those old school players. George recently picked up an offer from Youngstown State. On Wednesday, George dominated multiple times run blocking. He sent defenders tumbling.

On defense George showed some wiggle as a pass rusher. George is also gifted at the unseen things. As coaches began wondering what happened on a play, it was George that calmly stepped in and communicated the leak in the scheme.

Its one thing to know a scheme, but a player that is observant enough to watch their teammates when they’re not in the game is something that highlights a high football intellect.
