Parker Friedrichsen moved up to the No. 105 ranked player after the recent On3 2023 update. The 6-foot-3 guard showcased his considerable talents in July on the Under Armour UAA Circuit, averaging 19.3-points and 2.9-assists, shooting 43.6-percent from three for the month.

“This summer, I wanted to win games,” Friedrichsen told On3. “But, at the same time, show people what I’m capable of and how my game is still evolving. From a numbers standpoint, I was very efficient throughout July. I showed I could play more of the PG spot with the ball in my hands and make plays for my teammates. While also being pretty efficient in the pick and roll.”

Friedrichsen was formerly committed to Oklahoma State and has taken all five of his junior year officials, Nebraska, Creighton, Iowa, Purdue, and Oklahoma State.

He also added a visit to Davidson in June, his first visit since re-opening his recruitment. On3 caught up with Parker Friedrichsen on his way out to the Steph Curry camp to talk about future visits and which schools are making him a priority.

“I took a quick visit to Davidson on June 19,” Friedrichsen said. “I haven’t finalized any (senior year) visits yet, but I will take three or four, for sure.”

Friedrichsen recaps Davidson visit

Davidson: “They stand out to me because of how they are making me a priority. Having the chance to possibly follow in Steph’s (Curry) footsteps and have a chance at his records while playing in a great system for guards. He is arguably one of the greatest ever. He didn’t take the “high major” route to get where he is now. I think the A10 is an underrated league. They always get to the tournament, and that’s my ultimate goal wherever I go. Coach (Will) Reigel and Coach (Matt) McKillop are recruiting me.”

Friedrichsen talks future visits

“I’m looking at setting up visits with Northwestern, Vandy, Notre Dame, and Nebraska,” Friedrichsen said. “I want to get to Davidson again too.”

Northwestern: “Coaches (Chris) Collins and B Mac (Bryant McIntosh) are the lead guys. They have been making me a big priority and are looking for me to come in and make an early impact. The program doesn’t hit the portal much due to academic regulations, so look to develop their high school kids coming in . They showed up to every game in Chicago, and I talk to someone on their staff daily.”

Vanderbilt: “Coach (Andy) Fox is the main guy. I have been talking to them a lot for a few weeks. They watched me play in July several times. Another great academic school in a big conference. We are working on a visit date. They have a great coach in (Jerry) Stackhouse, and I’m learning more about the program all the time.”

Nebraska: “They have been in the picture for a while. Coach (Fred) Hoiberg coaches a pro-style offense and has connections to the league. The staff has been in the NBA also. I hear from Coach Hoiberg and Coach (Nate) Loenser the most with them.”

Notre Dame: “They are a newer school. Coach (Anthony) Solomon started talking to me in Chicago, and interest is picking up very quickly. An official visit has been brought up. I love the system, and the ACC is traditionally very good.”

Clemson, Vanderbilt, BYU, and Notre Dame are schools who haven’t offered yet but are talking with me pretty regularly,” Friedrichsen said.

In his words

“I’m still open as of now, not locked in yet,” Parker Friedrichsen said. “I will probably have a decision in late September or early October and then sign in November.

“For me, it will just be my relationship with the staff and how I relate to the players. I’ll look closely at where I can fit in with the team. I just want that opportunity to play if I earn it. Also, academically, being in a good spot sets me up for life after hoops.

“I’ll go play anywhere, so location doesn’t really matter. Level doesn’t matter to me, either. I just want a great fit. I want to see myself in a great system; a fast-paced controlled freedom offense suits me best. A coach that lets their guys go but also has great sets when needed

“All these programs I talked about can do this for me. These coaches know how to develop players, and the opportunities will find you, in my opinion, if you put the work in.”
