After being traded from the Tennessee Titans to the Philadelphia Eagles, former Titans’ star wideout A.J. Brown has been enduring social media abuse from fans of his old team. It’s quite a shame, especially considering how much he did for the Titans franchise. Because of the recent abuse, he decided to cancel his planned camp in Nashville. On Friday evening, he took to Twitter to address the reasons why he decided to pull out of the camp.

In his social media post on Twitter, Brown addressed fans and wrote:

“I’m so sorry I let down your kids and many others but I will not put myself in a place where my peace is going to be threatened by adults who feel a way because I was traded,” Brown began. “I’m every bad word it is for taking care of “MY FAMILY”! If you’re not aware, just look on social media. I’m a man first and I will always do what I feel is right for me and my family. People are upset and that’s fine but it’s not that serious when it comes to me. People can disrespect me on social media and that’s fine but being disrespectful to my face is whole another thing and I’m not tolerating it on any level. So forgive me for not putting myself in a place where my peace could be threatened because if something happens and I react, I’m the one who has everything to lose and not willing to risk my peace, my family, or my job.”

Brown finished:

“I would love to make everyone children’s day but not if I’m putting my own at risk. Please don’t say nothing is going to happen because nobody knows that. I’m sure someone will still have a problem with this and that’s fine as well. If you can’t understand that then it’s because you don’t want too. Take care! Love”

Then a few fans responded to his post and he decided to reply:

The former Titans’ star has had an ugly divorce from his former team, to say the least. It’s too bad because he established himself as one of the game’s elite stars with them. Over the past three seasons, Brown hauled in 185 catches for 2,995 receiving yards, while reeling in 24 touchdown catches.

It was absolutely incredible what the former Ole Miss star did during the 2020 season, playing on two bad knees. He ended up making the Pro Bowl that year, despite needing cleanup surgery on both knees following the season. Last season, he battled a number of various ailments (knee, hamstring, chest, and calf), but still played in 13 games.

An elite athlete coming out of high school, Brown was recruited by Ole Miss to play both college baseball and college football. He became the second player after Kyler Murray to play in the Under Armour All-America Game for both football and baseball. Not surprisingly, Brown was highly thought of by the On3 Consensus Rankings for the 2016 cycle. The former Ole Miss star was rated a four-star prospect and as the No. 42 overall player in America, according to those rankings.
