It was a cool moment after the SEC Championship last week when Jameson Williams saw former teammates Chris Olave and Gee Scott Jr. in the stands. Williams talked this week about how those two ended up in Atlanta for the big game.

The trio played together at Ohio State last season. Williams transferred to Alabama this season and was a big reason why the Crimson Tide beat Georgia last week. He had seven receptions for 184 yards and two touchdowns as Alabama defeated the Bulldogs 41-24.

It turns out Williams had a little something to do with Olave and Scott coming to the support him.

“It was pretty good seeing Chris and Gee,” Williams told reporters. “I actually hit those guys up and asked them, ‘Did y’all want to come to the game?’ They were quick with it, they told me, ‘Yeah,’ so I got them to the game and that was pretty good seeing my guys at the game.”

Williams also talked about what his goals were after the transfer. After all, he played against Alabama in the national championship last year. But he wants to go back — and that was really his only goal coming in.

“Coming into the season, I just had goals to go really far in the [playoff],” Williams said. “I really didn’t have any goals or accomplishments, touchdown stats, anything [in mind]. I just wanted to play really good football and get back to the national championship with my team. As you can see, we have a chance of doing that coming up.”

WATCH: Chris Olave, Gee Scott cheered on Jameson Williams at SEC Championship

Last year, Jameson Williams was the third wide receiver option at Ohio State behind Chris Olave and Garrett Wilson. After becoming a national name at Alabama this year, he saw some familiar faces at Saturday’s SEC Championship.

Olave and tight end Gee Scott Jr. made the trip to Atlanta to cheer on Williams as he and Alabama dominated Georgia 41-24 on Saturday. It was a cool moment, especially considering Williams 184 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Crimson Tide to another league title.

After the game, Williams went on Instagram and posted a celebratory video with his former teammates to his story.

In fact, Williams caught as many touchdowns against Georgia as he had all year in 2020. As a Buckeye, Williams had nine receptions for 154 yards and two touchdowns as Ohio State fell to Alabama 52-24 in the national championship.

Williams’ numbers were so low because Olave and Wilson had huge years. Olave led Ohio State with 729 yards and seven touchdowns, while Wilson had 723 yards and six touchdowns with Justin Fields under center.
