Now that he has a Super Bowl ring to his name, Odell Beckham Jr. is gearing up for free agency. It won’t be his first time testing the waters, and ESPN predicts one team might express interest in him once again.

Beckham started the 2021 season with the Cleveland Browns before they released him in November. Before he landed in Los Angeles with the Rams, he had multiple teams interested in signing him at the time.

The Kansas City Chiefs were one of them, and Jeremy Fowler thinks the Chiefs could make a run at him again. But that reported ACL injury might impact his market a bit, especially considering his history with injuries.

“The Chiefs were in on Beckham during his midseason free-agency tour,” Fowler wrote. “He has to sign with a contender with high-level quarterback play, and Kansas City needs juice opposite Tyreek Hill. Plus, tight end Travis Kelce turns 33 in October. But any team interested would have to consider the injury history, after Beckham suffered an injury to his left knee in the Super Bowl.”

While Matt Bowen didn’t entirely rule out a return to the Rams, where Beckham could team up once again with Cooper Kupp and a healthy Robert Woods, he added a pairing with Patrick Mahomes could also be interesting. Chiefs fans would have quite a time imagining Beckham, Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce in Mahomes’ arsenal.

“Beckham could very well return to Los Angeles, where he certainly fits well,” Bowen wrote. “But we like Beckham in the Chiefs’ pass-game structure as a viable No. 3 target for Patrick Mahomes. A nuanced and savvy route runner, Beckham can win isolation matchups or be schemed as a catch-and-run option on the leveled concepts in the Kansas City playbook.”

NFL insider Ian Rapoport reveals latest update on Odell Beckham Jr.’s knee injury

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. is expected to undergo surgery in the coming days to repair his torn ACL that was suffered in Sunday’s Super Bowl 56 matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals, according to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network.

Beckham Jr. went down with the injury in the second quarter of Sunday’s game. He ended the game with two receptions for 52 yards and a touchdown. Despite Beckham’s absence, Los Angeles was able to come out on top with a 23-20 win at SoFi Stadium.

As Beckham Jr. heads into free agency, Rapoport points out that it’s crucial for the wideout to be back to healthy as soon as possible.
