Big Ten announces all-conference teams, individual awards

The Big Ten Tournament starts this week, and the league announced its individual awards and all-conference teams on Tuesday.

Wisconsin star Johnny Davis earned Big Ten Player of the Year honors while his coach, Greg Gard, won Coach of the Year for the second time in three years. Rutgers guard Caleb McConnell won the league’s Defensive Player of the Year award and Ohio State standout Malaki Branham was the league’s Freshman of the Year. Purdue forward Trevion Williams picked up the last individual award as the league’s Sixth Man of the Year.
